I have a buddy of mine who has a 32 x 32 x 63 tent. Vivosun 4 inch carbon filter. Vivosun in-line fan(blowing air in) 600w led light. Have had low humidity levels. Lowering into 30s level. He Wants to buy the BEST humidifier for that size tent that must increase levels. What’s a good one for a good price? I see different threads saying best this and that. Made choosing one pretty difficult. Or is he doing something wrong?

I use this when I have my Clone tent set up. You can get at any pharmacy or target.

This is nice model, bought mine back a few years price then was around $40. Like it because you can set the humidity level and works good.

In flower I like to keep my Rh under 50% and drop it as they progress in flower. Makes for some frosty flowers. The average Rh in Kandahar, Afghanistan is only 38% and marijuana grow just fine there.

He sent me a picture and said this is what the plant looks like. Tent looks to be dry and plant is shriveling up. . He purchased a Honeywell humidifier but it doesn’t work. Says the next purchase HAS to be one that’s guaranteed to increase level as it struggles to reach 40% humidity

Pics under normal lights. This is impossible. Only thing it can be said is there is too much nitrogen in the plant.

Medium?

According to him, feeding schedule is every 4 days or so. Thing is...he says it was good until he bought the tent. Had fans in it until he bought the carbon filter system. With the fan the humidity was higher but that was October or so. Now it’s november and difference in weather. Says he uses “mammoth p” every other feeding. Uses “fish sh¡t” which oddly helped out a lot.

The same soil that’s been in there before is what helped it grow. But the humidifier that’s in there is a warm mist, so should he get a cool mist, helping keeping the temperature down?

Understandable, post more info on your grow for a proper diagnosis for your ailment.

Well in anycase that plant has nitrogen issues imo. Stop feeding for a while.

He says between 30-33 degrees celcius. It went up to 35 without the carbon filter feeding outside air into the tent but since he installed it, it’s helped the temp. It was above 40% humidity but since the weather temp fell and tent setup modified, the humidity dropped too

I will tell him to buy a test kit. He says up to now everything was fine. Apartment heat is regulated by building so could be heat transfer making the tent hotter than should be.

35 degrees with with that rh is the problem. Tho there is a nitrogen abundance these temps are making everything worse. I always try to keep it around 24-27. Lately its been 22-23 tho. I think your friend should not zip the tent and run it with the flap open or he may need to get a flexible duct and pull air from a colder room, possibly from outside of the building (with a bug filter attached at the end).

I am a little confused on the (blowing air in)part. Do you mean he is blowing the air into the tent and creating positive pressure-blowing the sides out like a balloon or, pulling the air from inside the tent and blowing it into the filter? I could be wrong but, I am pretty sure both of those scenarios are not the preferred method. He should be pulling the air through the filter and out the tent, creating negative pressure in the tent.
I have RH in the 30's (currently 27) and I don't consider it to be a huge deal (not enough to buy a humidifier anyway). I pull the air and control the flow with the passive vents on the tent.
