Sure I just purchased a AC Infinity Handheld VPD/IR Temp Gun but only because I thought it was cool and it even measures temp and humidity from it. I like gadgets so figured why not lol.

If anyone is interested in the ACI VPD/IR gun, they are out of stock on the website but their official ebay store has them for $29.99 and free shipping.

You can see the mist from the humidifier. lights 50%, fan 65% I am hitting 81 degrees F 66% humidity. Current - 8:11AM CST. I even have the oscillating fan running as well. I may have to lower the lights back to 40% to adjust the temp. I am about 11" above the plant tops.

The oscillating fan is blowing on the sensors... might be a false reading.

My comments are not directed toward you, you came here for help and people are giving you so much information and contradicting information that it makes it tough.

The truth is that none of us are perfect growers and none of us have the same equipment, conditions, etc.

Some people are just giving you information they read off a Google search while others (like me) are giving you information from personal experience.

I recommend before taking anymore advice from anyone, take a look at post history and see what questions, comments, and other advice they have given to others so you know the information and advice they are giving is good.

I don't want to see you fail because of bad advice or go broke from buying things that people say that you must have.

I get that but it's still true. I am not offended. I'm new, I am going to make mistakes and I expect that.

And you are correct, being new and not knowing, it is hard to know who to believe. I know some here have great reputations so I tend to lean toward their advice when appropriate. I also like it when someone is going the same route as me.... I may have gone overboard on nutrients as pointed out to me, but I have a person kinda helping with that in a private chat but they are hydro where I am soil. I recently found out that a woman I work with has a husband that grows and is also using the advanced nutrients. I tried a sample and it was really good. But as others have mentioned, there are other, less expensive, methods that I am going to explore on the next grow. I am going to have to continue with what I have on hand.

I noticed that the humidifier display has been coming on by itself. I followed instructions but I guess I did not set it properly. Not good in sleep mode.

Oh well, back to monitoring. 83 degrees F, 62% humidity and fan at 90%. I may try shutting the humidifier off for a while and see how dry it gets. Humid day here... I might be ok.

Yes, very expensive. 160.00 For the basics. Tiny bottles that I hope will last at least one grow. As I was walking out the door I saw the gala green. Should have gone that route. As I said before... I tend to fall for hype when ignorant about a subject. I am in a 1 bedroom apartment. I can not imagine trying to make my own soil. I don't even have room for the 5 little bottles of chemicals I purchased, as well as 2 bags of soil and perlite. And the smell from the closet is horrible.

Now I noticed I have a light leak in the top of the tent where the electrical is running through. Wheeeeeeee this is fun.

It gets cheaper while growing. I buy in big bottles in promo online. Grow from grow you have leftovers- get's bit easier on pocket. I also use mostly Advanced Nutrients and mixture of whatever worked for me in the past. And maybe I am weird but I love smell of nutrients lol

It was funny going through this topic and those advices some of them good, some of them not so much. you gotta take them all, do your research separately, divide by two and then do what you feel is right Nice job on improving there.
With VPD - it's fantastic to watch it and you will dial in your environment very soon. Experience comes with time. Cannabis is no different than growing other plants in early veg state. Keep humidity around 75% in second week as that helps- with high humidity in the air plant can suck moisture from air and do what she should- grow roots to feed properly from medium. Each week lower it down by 5% to 60-65% in second part of veg. But when your temperature will start to change humidity must fall or rise to keep that VPD in sweet spot. Would spare for 69 controller to that set up as from data you will be learning even faster and set up will be controlling itself adjusting extract and fan to keep humidity in check. Somebody gave here fantastic advise to watch leaves and how they align and position as plants will tell you everything you need to know really
I grow 6 last years in the attic and it's not fun. Worse than basement I think

Seriously, I know it’s a help to some, but I’m just old school with it. Dli, vpd par ppfd all of that is kinda useless to me. It’s wild watching folks make heads or tails of it and applying it.
Wild to see, always willing to learn, def won’t ever use them.

Me either and since it requires another purchase to do it correctly I am going to skip that for now and focus on keeping a stable environment.

Boosting the light to get these to spread is causing a temp issue.. At 86.6 degrees F at the moment. Fans do not seem to be doing much. Light is at 50% I may need to drop to 40% until I can raise the lights higher. Funny thing is, It does not feel that hot. I put my hand in there and it feels cool with the breeze of the fan in the corner. I can touch the light and they feel a tiny bit warm but does not seem enough to heat anything up. At least not drastically.

Humidity is at 61%. Little high but if I shut the humidifier off it drops way too low at 43%....

fan just circling the air in the tent moving it around. if you want to dig into temp you have to set extract from tent on higher gear so hot air will be pumped out and colder will get in. only way to do it without controller is observe how temp is rising and falling during the day and set up extract up and down.
In first part of veg I keep temps at max 26-27 degrees. Which is 75-78 in yours I think It's easy to heat stress youngsters

I'm well above that at 87.6 F 30.88 C. Humidity is good though. LOL. My exhaust fan is at 70%, lights down to 45% power. Only 71F 21.6C outside. Both intake and blow out are out the window to pull in the cooler air from outside.

I even opened one of the bottom flaps on the side of the tent to pull in more air and still the temp is not dropping. Not sure why. This kit came with a 4" fan, maybe I need the 6".

Yep, focus on a stable environment

Nothing wrong with lowering your light intensity, my lights have been at 40% and 24" high pretty much all of veg, 30% in the beginning.
I just flipped my smaller tent to flower last night, I'll keep that same 40% and 24" but start increasing intensity each week of flower.

61% humidity is not bad at all, better then the 77% you had IMO.

Are you growing autos or photos?
If you're growing photos, you can always veg for a week or 2 longer if you want more growth.

I have to run my AC even on the cooler days in the spring. I also have a dedicated tent room so my AC doesn't affect the temp of the rest of my house.

Do you have a fan only mode on the AC that will blow a little cooler air in from outside but not have to run the actually AC part of it? or even a box fan in the window blowing cooler outside air in?

In my smaller tent which is an oversize 4x2 (55"x28"x80") I run a 6" exhaust and a 4" intake, just for reference.

I'm pretty sure Mars Hydro makes a fan controller you can buy and use instead of the manual adjustment knob, then you can control by temp or humidity, kind of like the AC Infinity Controller 69 but not quite as advanced.

Photos, I was warned away from autos until I learn to grow LOL.

I was concerned about the height of the plants, I started a thread about it which kinda bled into this... I was trying to stop the height growth until they got a little fatter. It was suggested to raise the light intensity and lower the lights closer. I did, they seemed to have stopped getting taller. Just waiting fort hem to widen a bit.

It's a phone app. I paid extra so I had the wifi option to watch things at work.

I have both, AC and box fan... just seems too early to use them. Ceiling fan and windows open seem to keep the room cool. I think the lights and sensor are too close. They are where the plants are and that seems important. I think readings are just off. It does not feel hot in there at all.

4" extract is good for up to 3X3 so you are ok here. what you can do is check CFM on intake and exhaust and compare if you have tent system efficient because with the intake from outside air and your temps outside that should go down definitely faster than it does
I would say it's lights that produce this temps for you. would go with Newty advise and dim them down and set them higher. I am just on 100W of blue spectrum in 3X3 with 4" extract and I have it 23" above the plants.

I have air volume of 145.5 cfm and Wind pressure at 295 OPA Not sure if that is what you mean. Fan is on 70% at the moment. Even had the door open for about 15 min while I made lighting adjustments. Temp only went down 4 degrees with door open. Must be lights and them being too close. Again, advice in another thread to help them not get so tall and skinny.

I also have the deep red lights on today. Had them off past couple of days and leaves looking a little more pale. They were a much deeper green when I was using them. I am sure that is adding to the heat a bit as well.

deep red spectrum on those lamps is helpful in flowering. veg uses blue side. seedlings are doing weird things with green shades and veins on them- wouldn't worry too much as long as they stand and grow ;)

you should be fine with this set up if you're in 3X3. been years since I grow with active intake. watch out for negative pressure if intake and extract are in the same size and power.
With only 157CFM you got to check also bends on ducting as this slows extract down. And another thing that comes to my mind from HPS times & extreme heat- you can put one small clip fan to blow on light itself from above- should give you few degrees of wanted relief pretty cheap (I also grow on budget now )
Tweak stuff around and I am sure you will get stable environment very soon

I have negative pressure... air out from the top, hose goes down to the floor, over, then up and out the window. Intake on side at bottom, around the tent to the back then up and out the window. I have to keep a bend on the intake to keep light out I was told.

I have a clip fan and it too is going at the moment.

Been working on that all day. Had to change the right side additive lights around, I noticed they were running the same on both sides and not once side reversed so that both Deep red are on outside, UV on inside and IR on the inside. Ooops. Glad I caught that now while there is room to fix it LOL.
