I am about to attempt my first aeroponics grow using my aeroponics cloner. I have no reason to clone anymore, so I wanted to experiment with aeroponics so it gets some use.

Soil to hydroponics has many differences, but what are some differences I can expect when going from hydroponics to aeroponics?

I read that I need to use a much weaker solution since the high oxygen allows for more efficient nutrient intake. I also read that bennies will be counterproductive as they will bloom and clog the system so they should not be added. I guess a sterile system is the way to go.

What type of airoponics are you doing high, low presure or fog?

What made you decide to try this more expensive way of growing?

Not sure about type, I'm just using one of those aeroponics cloners.

Is it really more expensive? I don't see any other additional costs compared to hydroponics.

Going to be growing here. You can see the cloner. It is just a water pump with a bunch of mist valves. Worst case scenario I just ditch the pump and make it DWC, but I want to test out an aeroponics grow with it.

Yeah, it will be grown 12/12 from seed. Seed is germinating right now. Will keep everyone updated.

Well hpa is a few grand soo yea.but your basicly using a top feed dwc the second your roots touch the bottom it will be a basic dwc.true airoponics roots dont sit in water that makes them get more air. Since all your stuff is in the same box watch out for roots going in your pump did you put a mesh or something?

What timings will you be using?

Ah, that is true. I may end up swapping the pump for an air stone at some point during the grow.

I am not sure about timings. I was planning on running the pump 24/7.

I would think you could get more air in water with sprayers than an airstone but i havent looked at reaserch for that.its basicly a fency waterfall and they are as good as airstones.

Well its not airponics but its something new for me soo it will be interesting to follow.good luck with the grow!

I've only used tap water in my bubble cloner with 2/3ppm of chlorine.

Tap water is hassle free there's no ph,ing etc required.

I sometimes use a powerhead pump instead of the stones, the stones are good for summer there's no temp increase from them but in winter when its cold I use the powerhead because it helps heat the water.

The gentle agitation works much the same as bubbles and its quieter than the air pump.
