Hygrozyme is crap!

this crap turned my res and sites into a bubble bath, the second I added it BOOM foam, the next morning so much foam that I had to drain it, not to mention the bio-growth the foam gives you Arrrrg Nightmare, any good substitutes? sorry for the rant I am frustrated :headbang

I use it with great results but if you dont like it Humbolt roots.H&G root ex,route 66,voodoo,all work great

Wow,, thats a first??? I'd use voodoo or Hombult roots if hygrozyme wasnt avail?

Not sure bro maybe it doesnt do good in dwc roots exel is supposed to be some bomb shit 2 but ive also read the same results when used in dwc with air stones.

Hygrozyme is the shit. I don't know how well it works in dwc though. Never had foaming issues before.

I use it in DWC 5 gallon buckets no prob, try less than the recommended perhaps, I use it at half strength

Too much air will cause foam fractionation - the same principle protein skimmers use in reef aquariums - if you are indeed experiencing this then all bio's in solution get foamed off into the floatsom.

I just cant have that crap in my system, I do have a lot a lot of O2 bubblin and my pumps for my returns are flowing super fast, but honestly I'm not sure what to do here because I think it is important maybe H&G multi-zen

The hygrozyme is compairable to canazyme and sensizyme, nothing like root ex, root66 humbolt roots ect

i use it and hand water out of 5 gallon buckets when i fill buckets it foams up aswell but go's away quick , but with some kick ass airation i could see foam never going away,
i also cannot tell any difference with or with out it , could be just me ,
but for price i may just avoid it using it anymore

Now roots excel is giving me foam, I just have to much splash goin on from my return lines, this sucks

Anything with seaweed extract will bubble & foam out the res in aero or dwc with highly oxygenated water (ei... Humboldt roots,Roots XL& Root66) Ive ran Hygrozyme in both for years with great results never had a problem with foam from it! Hygrozyme doesnt have a shelf life because its not a live bacteria! What else are you putting in the res besides just the Hygrozyme???

hygrozyme could just be making the reaction happen quicker... could be something else in your mix.

the foam could be from the organic mix. jmo but could be a reason y there's not much organic products for hydro.

maybe i missed this, but how much are you using? i got some foam when using the recommended dosage, but at 5mL/gallon everything works out fine. also noticed thicker stems and happier roots after i started using.
