I have 4 foot fixtures with some t5 leds for starting. Should I face the LEDs downward or face them up at the reflector?

One more question. I have one LED and one fluorescent in each fixture. Just for (multiple spectrum) idunno... Is that a bad idea?

I’m sure it’s fine, I use all 4 led bulbs in my t5 for cloning and seedlings. Great growth and power savings. I must say the led bulbs are expensive but last a lot longer than the fluorescent t5 bulbs.
Crescendo and Sfv seedlings

12” to 18” works for me, just measured with tape. They a lot stronger than the fluorescents as I could go as close as a couple inches.

How far is subjective. Seedlings look laggy? Bring the lights closer. Growing indoors under lights you need to be a reactive grower(respond to changes as you see them)

I vegged mine like this. I started out with only the T3's when they were clones and then got the Spider Farmer SE5000 a few days later.
Over the past 7 weeks I have tried to take the T3's down like 3 different times, but every time I did, the plants started drooping within a few hours - no matter what height or power I put the Spider Farmer at.

So, fine. I left it as is and they're happy. The Spider Farmer is currently at 70% power.

Tomorrow I am doing the flip, so the T3's get removed regardless of how pouty the plants want to be. I imagine the change in hormones going into flower will change their mind on how much they like the Spider Farmer. :) I'll drop it down to about 24" and drop the power to 50% to start, then ease it up little by little over a week. See how they respond.

That fluorescent produces a lot of heat and the bar lights don’t. Make sure your temps are around 80 degrees. The less power, the less heat they produce. Temps might be your drooping problem.

The T8's are LED in the tube. Not fluorescent. No heat off of these.
(Mistakenly stated they were T3's earlier)

“2024”
4ft T8 LED replacement bulbs, just remove old ballast and hardwire straight voltage.
( Must have old T8 fixture or just buy one)
5,000 lumens @ 38watts EA. WOW. Made by GE too.

38watts 4 tube T8
reflective fixture=152watts
38 watts 6 tube T8 reflective fixture
= 228 watts. That’s a good Mother, clone, pre veg light IMHO.
All depending on plant count.
