Been there, still happens occasionally.
They could respond in as little as a few hours but could take a day, other environmental factors will play a part.
You more then likely will need to hold them up now.
I usually have to stake my plants and use ties to hold them up, the buds are always just to damn heavy
I use AC Infinity plant stakes, work excellent and available in few different lengths. I went with the 36" length.
Tips are very sharp and there's slots in the end so you can actually lay wire or string to make a SCROG, trellis, or something else for training.
I use garden wire to secure branches to them, I didn't put them into the soil but instead zip tied them to my pots.
