Hi! First time Southern California outdoor grower here. We have a heat wave coming in this week. It's supposed to be in the 90s. I was wondering if I should try and move my plants to a shadier spot for most of the day.
Thank you!

They'll be fine. Just make sure they have enough water. My plants in N. Cal went through 105+ for several days recently and did fine.

Went through the same! It’s easy to overwater when things get hot, so be careful and let them get some semblance of a dry back!

Yup, central california here, was 100 something for about a week. Watered every morning and they were fine. Mine are in fabric pots so they’re a little less susceptible to overwater.

Good luck!

I was gifted mku ultra, pheno hunter and lemon seeds. I grew 5 of the starters in an aerogarden. Then I grew a few more in a small aquaponics setup for veggies. Most of the aqua setup starters died but I managed to save one. I have no idea which is which. They are all female plants. I didn't even know what auto flower and photo was until I planted them in soil. I've done topping and fimming in no particular order and I'm not sure I even did that right. I fertilizer them weekly using a liquid hydroponic 3 part fertilizer that is illegal in California.I have read so much about growing marijuana I could almost write a book! I don't know how these babies are gonna turn out. I'm full on learning as I go but, man, I am having so much fun with these babies.

My first job was in Riverside at a Ross! I grew up in Apple Valley!
Lemme know if you see anything on plants that could tell me if they are auto or other wise!

Right on! My brothers always flowered early down there! Like about the first week of August! All you can do is hang on for the ride! It’s habit forming! And try and black out the backyard where you have them as much as possible! Caterpillars used to kill him! You don’t want to be attracting moths! He is one of those rich guys living in a big place overlooking Moreno Valley! Used to have his backyard lit up like a state prison! When he knocked that shit off, his caterpillar problem was reduced by at least 75%!

Get rid of as much ambient lighting as possible! Patio lights, pull the curtains, etc. Get used to walking out into the backyard with a flashlight if it’s feasible! I don’t know about Ventura but it’s probably about the same! If you see moths Fluttering around your lights, then they will be a problem! And keep your eyes peeled! Four caterpillars! Especially in flower!

Oh like for night time? It's always dark in our backyard. I've been pretty lucky with pests. Thanks for the tip!
