HeyO farm- I've been working the hands to a pulp this year and haven't been around much. I'm making time today because of an issue I've never seen before- I'm hoping someone else here has and can give up some insight before she gets worse or I just cull...

So the whole damn field got soaking wet over the last 2 weeks but in the last four or five days had sunned up and dried up and were ready for another watering. I had noticed a slight color difference in this plant a couple of days ago but didn't give it the time it needed... Found this watering this morning. Homeslice said he saw what looked like a larva thing crawling into it- I never saw it but know he's on the level... Anyway it appears to be some fungus type of affliction although I don't know how that plays out with a larva crawling around. The plant is a lighter shade of green although I suspect it would be with almost any other issue as well. It is in an organic soil mix but (shame on me) I haven't put a tea on her in about a month. The stalk above the fungus looks as though the plant is ready to be culled.

I remember @Capulator had some thing called Elephant's foot or something like that a couple of years back but can't seem to find the thread now. Maybe @Seamaiden can remember.

Any insight and help is appreciated. Maybe I'll share a photo or two once this thing gets sorted out.

Thanks Farm,
PB

i havent done it myself but ive seen people scrape away the bad area with a razor blade, spray with h2o2, and then make sure to keep that area dry

Word- I'll go with that for now. I don't know what it is and I don't know what it isn't. Stem rot is definitely something I've never dealt with before- maybe luck, maybe I'm just that fucking good(bad?). Thanks for taking a look homie.

I say drench the area with peroxide and even the soil around the first few inches of the stalk. And yeah, seems too wet looking so keep it dry after.

Yep- she was wet in the photo. Just watered and all. Thanks for taking a peep!

Peroxide treatment will be under way within the hour and I'll report back soon after.
Thanks for the simple answer I couldn't come up with on my own...

no prob. I had an issue I hadn't experienced before, and seamaiden suggested I try peroxide and it seems to have done the trick. You can go thru my thread in the greenhouse section to see what she looked like weeks ago compared to now.

Trim up the base of the stem above the infected area, score it a bit with an xacto & rub cloning solution up about 8 inches then put more soil around up and around this area.

I super cropped & had some fungus on some of last years outdoor in a swamp. I did not wrap the wound & payed the price on 15 plants. Hope you can save her ....

And put some aloe on the wound before you bury her. Should see new roots in ten days.

scrape all soil around the base. Scrape the infected area and smell it. Does it smell like sewage? If yes, spray daily wit H202 3% and hope it's not too late!

Hi PButter, really sorry to see what you've got going on but I think everyone here has got you covered, they're suggesting the same as I would suggest.
