So , I have these plants with massive buds on them . The problem is after heavy rain I’ve had five branches snap already . I got string going everywhere . I haven’t staked the plants because it’s not the main trunk that’s the problem except near the top and that’s 12 feet in the air . We’re supposed to get heavy rain again tomorrow and high wind . I’m afraid I’m going to lose the whole kit and caboodle . Also it’s my opinion that these buds need another 30 days but I’m interested in what you say

My opinion is cut out the bud rot, if the main “trunk” is solid tie all the branches back to that near the end of the branches

You need to trim everything out and cut any branches with bud rot. Looks like a diaster! I’d put loads of stakes around the plant and tie the branches to them. Mould is your biggest enemy now by the looks of it. The wind and rain tomorrow might be the final straw

It’s a pretty developed mould spot at the top of a cola god knows what’s in the middle and bottoms. Hopefully it’s some sort of a damage and rotted a bit. Plant that size needs preparation

Aside from bud rot issues, you might consider hanging a line across the top of it and hold up individual branches with strings coming off that line.

I like that idea . Thanks . I didn’t know if I could wrap them up like a cocoon or something just for the storm, anyway I cut all the top heavy buds off still a little early but should be ok . There’s a ton more so I figured I save what I can . I was going to delete this thread but I can’t figure out how to do it . Just don’t want hear any more about the bud rot . Lol although I am glad I did because just so happens the one bud I took a close up of had it . Went back to look at everything and all is good .

Yeah . I’m a newbie . I’ve only done one indoor grow and this is my first outdoor grow . Up until now ive been bragging that the weather has been perfect over the spring and summer . Now the torrential down storms are happening and the wind . I’ll be way more prepared next year . Lol . But seriously , I just happen to take that one picture of the only bud that had rot . I looked them all over separating them to see if there was any in the middle and no . From what I’ve learned is it might be better to groom your plants small just for this reason . I got so much growing out there , it wouldn’t matter if I lost half of it . Lol .went a little overboard and grew nine plants that all turned out to be monsters . Here’s some of the baby arms I cut off . I had to do it , just to much weight.

6-8 stakes around the plant as its growing should save you a lot of heart ache. Can tie big branches every few feet up then
