Hawaiian is what it's called - and says 60-70 days, which i take is the flower time. So it's about now certainly.

Thats bud rot, immediately remove the nug, bag it and get your humidity as low as possible

There's no question its bud rot. Removing the nug and some extra surrounding tissue is solid advice. It's likely the op ends up harvesting anyway. The plant is an auto that was started in mid/late May.

I usually use my wifi digital microscope and I get close up trichome pics. My digital microscope is mounted on an old 35mm camera tripod. Most people have trouble getting a good picture without something holding the camera steady. These provide the most detailed picture of your plant's stage of growth.

However, in your photos I do see trichomes that have stalked and formed mushroom heads. It's hard to tell about any signs of amber with my old man eyes but I'm confident enough to say due to the bud rot you have found, your plant is close enough to harvest to not take anymore chances. I would use an H2O2 based budwash regimen to wash your harvest before drying it.

Yep, my Autos usually show signs if I let them go too long.
Couple years ago, I had to be away and family watered for me. Every damn day. LOL
Came home to one of them completely brown and crispy. Lots of rot spots on the others.
Won't do that again.

Heya C I’m with you on being weary I’ve been pulling fans off of my photos going for the ones with the dreaded Septoria and curling tips. Opening spots for airflow fucking arthritis in my hands and wrist sucks. I hope we get a frost it stop it like last year or maybe it just senesces like that dunno. I was at wits end last year pruning leaves like when I picked tobacco back when I was 13 till 17 hard on the hands on cold wet mornings. Hey have you noticed that rot seems to start on the inside lower calyx on the stem one little calyx and it starts. Well enough rants take care!

What does the breeder estimate say about seed to harvest time. Many would be mature after 100 days. It's worth taking a look. My area of the country is going into a warm up next week. If your area is part of it, it could buy you some extra time if needed.

I really thank you all for this help. We went through her pretty thoroughly and made a little surgery where it began and seemingly stopped. We did not do a wash as that would be a new one to me; I will read up some!
thank you all so much. This is a great "little" community here and I'm grateful to have stopped by to learn how to work inside it some!

How this species even made it to todays present is unbelievable since the design of buds is simply asking for rot...

Weird evolution, one tiny bit of damage or drop of warm water in the wrong place and game over!

Well maybe I should cut it then. We are supposed to have ridiculously high temps and moisture in the air for a few more days this week. They're cloudy, just not amber...I nipped off the area and that bud is soooo sticky.

if i get bud rot before harvest i cut it out and than spray the area where i cut from with a 50/50 or so stronger mix of 99% isopropyl and water,.. works great!

So close to the finish line. I just assumed the weather would turn to shit about now, but it's beautiful and now I'm getting nervous that I may have good buds after all. Yikes.

Just a side note - Weed dried for two weeks in the ol' herb hanger. Snapped the twigs, cut into buds and jarred. I finish up the process and on my table, were two seeds! Only two. I may find a few more when cleaning for actual consumption.
Is it normal for Auto flowers to have only a few seeds? i would think if male, it'd be a lot of seeds. What do we think?

Seeds only happen where there's pollen.

The fact you have only found a few suggests you don't have many ... Outdoor grown, it could be from a hermie flower hidden in one of the female buds of the auto you grew or it could be wind blown pollen and the seeds could be unrelated to your grow. It's hard to say to be honest.

dang - what causes this usually?

Caterpillar/insect poop. I hose off my plants with a brisk spray throughout the grow, then give them a shake to knock off excess water. I even do this throughout flower.
