I got a RYOT 3x5 inch box
And LOVE it. It produces much bettee Kief than i can buy.
It has a 100 or 120 micron nylon screen. The kief is nice and fine i have posted photo of Kief i dry sifted. From 35+ grams of Mecican Brick weed in another thread.
Today i wanted to see how well it cleaned up 3 grams of Kief i hsd purchased at a dispensary.
I was stunned to to find 1 cc of cloth fibers, pistil fragments, tiny stem pieces from bud.
I sm very impressed. I think this dry sift is almost as clean as water hash, and dont have to wait days for it to dry.
The little. RYOT Kief box wss a Christmas present from my sister.
Dont have multiple grades depending on the size of trichomes as you would with bubble hash but i am very VERY pleased.
Now i can smoke it as is.
Make into eJuice
Press into hash
Or press into Rosin.
If you want an inexpensive way to dry sift and see if this is for you its well worth the $34 or so.
You Dont need huge screens, super clean work area, a sheet of glass or parchment paper to catch your Kief on.
This box is fully self contained.
Flip tge top over and you have a rolling tray.
It comes witg a plastic card to move the ground bud around but wouldn't recommend it because tge card is rather thin and pieces tend to bounce out of the screen.
What i did was toss tge plastic card in the trash and cut an expired insurance card in half and that works. MUCH MUCH. Better.
If you chose yoy could put the top on the box and shake for a minute or more after putting in the herb.
Haven't tried this yet.
The base has a sheet of plastic or possibly glass that your kief collects on.
This kief box easily fits in s pocket if you need to take it with you.
Ay home i keep it in a plastic zip lock bag and put in a drawer so its clean and ready to go when you need it.
If or when tge screen fails; i bought a yard of 100 micron silk screen i will stretch over the middle section and glue into place.
The only downside is the box is made of pine. So it is soft wood and not take much abuse.
I may try to make or buy one made of hard wood such as maple, ash, or bzmboo
