I usually let the girls wake up a bit. Charge the medium your going into first and when you put the transplant into it it’ll search it’s roots nicely. If you add vitamin B after transplants and defols sometimes they’ll respond faster.
I dont think it matters to much. The important part is lower the light intensity and raise the humidity for a day maybe 2. That reduces stress the most as your not driving it with light to photosynthesize and both the increased humidity and lower light intensity lowers the demand on the root system.
Ive never found it to make much difference. I do use an empty pot to form the transplant hole to make the transition smooth. And i will usually wait until the smaller pot is on the dry side before transplanting. That way once its transplanted and watered in you dont risk overwatering.
