Gonna depend on what the conditions are and what equipment you are needing to control with them.I'm looking into inkbird controllers for drying can anyone drop me some info on a good model to use who has experience with them. I read somewhere out here from someone who said they use one and it was cheap. I have looked and not crazy prices but dont see cheap either. Looking for one to help keep temperature and RH stable for drying.

I would put it in the basement or coolest place you can find. Then use a humidity controller on your exhaust fan. Probably all you need. Yeah I have a AC infinity system and just took down my first grow and dried them in cardboard boxes for about 8 days but had no way to monitor temp or rh in there. I had a second grow ready to go in that tent. I am new to all this and pulled over a quarter pound from the 3 plants but I have noticed a kind of hay smell to the flowers now that they are in mason jars curing. I have been told that happens with inproper drying habits. So if that's to be true I wanna make sure I dont have the same issue with this next dry and cure. But I dont believe I will be rushed to needing the flower tent so quickly this next time. I dry in low 60s and about 55-60% humidity. The first few days can be a bit drier like 50% but then you wanna slow the dry down. I haven't had to deal with that but if ya keep humidity under 60% then just pay attention to when they are ready to jar or whatever your using you should be good. Toss in a hygrometer and keep it under somewhere between 60-65% for a few weeks then dry down to around 55-58% for smoking i find works well for me.Also my geographical location I dont have a basement and it really only gets cool about 3 to 4 weeks out of the year. Warm and humid most of the year. "Florida" lol

My tent at night with lights off and in the dark is around mid to low 60s and rh is around mid 50s to 60. It's so dependent on the conditions you have to work with. For instance I dry for around 10-14days but if I was stuck in a dry climate I may pull em down after 5-7days and paper bag em, then take them out a couple hrs a day and back in... or put in a large tote and burp and rotate the buds as needed basically there is no one way unless you have full environmental control and even then there are variables like bud size and density.
Not trying to make it to complicated but there are many things you can do to adapt.

Also using RH packs that are suppose to keep them at 62RH so curious why 2 are over and 1 under. They will get better as they cure. I can't really say I smell hay much when drying but I do it in a much bigger space. I figured in the cardboard it would be rather insulated and stay pretty consistent. Unsure though. The dont feel overly dry to me to be honest. Actually seem pretty spot on and burping them for about 30 minutes a day and also have RH packs in their jars. But the earthy, hay smell is just throwing me off. Again I have had people saying that's normal and as they cure they will stink up. Also been told that's a drying issue, so guess I'm unsure and curious about that as well.

Is there a way to check or calibrate the hydro meters? And with higher RH burp more? I have pulled the buds out and played them on trays for 30-45 minutes a few times before putting them back in. Are you saying I should do that more frequently? I also notice the RH on the lower one go up while it's open and the RH on the higher go down while it's open as well.They will get better as they cure. I would be burping and turning those buds.... I never let it go over 65% if it hits 64-65% I'm burping.
Wow looks awesome. Craziness was even while flowering my plants never had an overly stinky, dank smell to them. But again first grow all for personal use. Very stoney just not stinky like I'm used to.I just finished my first try with a diy auto burping tote powered by an inkbird humidity controller and it worked great. I will definitely have to repeat these results a few times before I declare it a winner but so far its promising!
So after hanging in the tent at 70 degrees and 55% rh for 3 days they were "crispy" enough on the outside to paper bag and put in the tote at 65% After a few days lowered to 62% for total of 10 days. At that point they were dry enough to jar and not burp for at least a week. Thats where I'm at now. No hay smell and smokes surprisingly well already

This is how I dry in my flower tent. Hang the branches on hangers and let the controller “burp” the tent for 10 days. Maintaining 65-68*fFor the first few days it would activate and burp itself frequently like once an hour. You could smell the hay/chlorophyll smell in the room. After a few days it was way more infrequent and the smell exhaled from the tote was more " normal"

Yes if over 64-65 burp it its staying over then let em sit out a few hrs before putting en back in.
