Hello people, I have a purple bud plant which has just sstarted flowering and I'm quite happy with it, but I discovered various yellow leaves that have been partially eaten and I just noticed an insect that carved the stem and burrowed under it. It's not the main stem so I guess I could cut it but I wanted some opinions. You can check more plant pictures from my previous post.

I'll do it tomorrow. Since they are the lowest branches should I just cut them off whole? There aren't any flowers before the insect ones, maybe a single one (it's going to be a nugget for sure)
I’ve seen where people will take a needle and poke a bunch of holes where they think the critter is. Hopefully impale it and kill it. Don’t know what affect a dead insect inside of the stalk Might have, but it might be worth a look. Just two cents. Good luck!
It's a borer of one kind of another, possibly a Eurasian hemp borer. They're tough to kill once they're inside. You might consider spraying your plants with Bt to prevent further damage. There are also beneficials that control them, before they're in the plant. Check Arbico Organics website.
This is the larvae I found inside. It carved a 2/3 cm long space. But I discovered another branch, this time higher and with more flowers that I'd really like not to cut.

looks like it, I'll try getting some BT as you said
