Interesting Effects From Homemade Edibles

I always have a homemade edible about 1.5 hrs before sleep (hadn't slept well in over 10 yrs).
Store bought edibles did nothing..NOTHING but cost me $$ that is!

My "sleeping pill" makes me sleep like a kid again..seriously! Couple that with a few hits of my homegrown and I am gone in 15 minutes.

Tried some Dr. prescribed stuff a few yrs back..$7 per FKing pill..Did give me a rotten metallic taste in my mouth but no sleep!:mad:

I just realized that about 30 minutes after ingesting cookies, etc, I get one hella spike in my head high..Then it takes another 45+ minutes for the body high from the edible to set in..

never thought it could take effect so fast:)
Anyone else get these spikes? (been smoking 50+ yrs and making edibles only this yr..soooo..NOT a total noob at this..LOL)

I wish I could get an effect that fast. I take RSO in the evening but it takes up to 3 or more hours. Hits me the hardest 6 hours in. So I smoke a little flower or kief just before bed. At best I sleep 6 hours and then struggle to stay asleep and sometimes end up back in the garage hitting the bubbler again in the wee hours of the morning.

However without RSO or a little smoke I would be awake for days....PTSD and other challenges .....

It's great you get such a good response.

Sublingual hits faster, but not as long.

Ingestion lasts onger but takes quite a bit of time to get working.

Thanx..so I figured out later..
I guess, the first rush is from the sublingual hit and the later rush from the ingestion..Put some smoke with it and nah nah land is soon to follow. Reminds me..need to scoopout some more..;)

Now days a morning and night and sometimes midday I dose with coconut canna oil and I sleep like a fucking rock that has been cemented to the bed. Then I wake up really refreshed. Still in fucking pain but hey I got some sleep. I can get cannabis to knock my ass out... but I wish it worked d better for pain....

Not exactly

Sublingual is absorbed under the tongue

Ingestion is eating, the iver process the edible.

Reason why ingestion takes long time. Liver has to break it down, vs right under the tongue

It seems to work differently for pain according to the individual and the strains..MY pain and swelling (the male crap), is TOTALLY gone after 10 yrs on opiods!..Of course, if I come down..it returns at once..so I gather that the swelling is alleviated by Cannabis only never permanently.
I swear..before..there were times I didn't want to get out of bed.
The best sleep comes as I sample some new stuff I have grown..(no tolerance as yet to these).
Bubble Hash from the same flower is a totally different high and doesn't seem to last quite as long for me..potent and enjoyable just like back in the day..(like 1965..LMAO).

I have 2 to recommend..
1st Grandaddy Purple
2nd Ayahuasca Purple (Barney's Farm)..Like a narcotic high:yawn:

Both do it for me and I hope you too..(My GDP was from MSNL in the UK, but it is only Big Bud x Purple Urkle..simple stuff)..
If my Colloidal Silver Cackleberry clone turned Male works..Ima gonna cross it with GDP!! That will really be my killer I think..
GDP alone has produced about 4.5 ounces per plant (LEDs) and the potency is unbelievable..seriously..

I drove 35 miles last yr to get some from a dispensary to smoke before getting seeds..Best move ever..:)

My pleasure..Usually purple translates into less potency for some reason but not with this..I have only seen it purple once (the exact same strain genetics CLONE) and that happened when the temps went down in the tent one cold week..NO effects on potency either.

Damn thing just wants to be supercropped, cloned, and simply fed til she bursts..Seems to flower fast but takes a bloodly long time to finish (mine went 11+ weeks inside), so I harvest in stages.
This is an older bud shot..including dog hair..LOL

Use different weight oils. I add a few drops of avocado and canola. These would absorb in different regions. I notice more sublingual.

There are some interesting reads on Butter/oils etc and their different absorption capabilities..From what I found..Plain unsalted butter absorbs best vs oils..again lots of differing opinions on this..(heavier fat content)..
Ima no scientist, but for me..butter works best in my Levo extraction thing..

I need to do some side by sides then. I always made butter but switched to oil because I heard science said oil had better absorption rates. I do know I get more oil compared with butter. So say two cups of oil compared to two cups of butter using the same cannabis amount I would end up with more oil ... maybe 25 percent more? So it goes farther? Seems equally potent to butter but I would have to test the theory used to eat cookies every today but now omitted that and just use the coconut oil...

I got too fat eating them cookies..I Make a baked potato w/ cannabutter before bed now (GDP BUTTER)..This is my new breakfast of champions..used the crumbs from my previous cookie batch!!

Yeah man the cookies.... jeez. When I first made them and started eating them half or one would knock me out. Even the daily smoker will be highly medicated off just one. But...over the course of one or two years that one cookie got to be ten. Now.... I can't eat ten fucking cookies a day.... blah.

But as far as weight goes..... I have heard of people losing weight using rso... but my daily cookies or coconut oil use has made me lose about 25 pounds now over that two year period. Didn't change anything else. Weird huh? Maybe I'm slowly disappearing...
