Hello,

I have bought 2 drivers:
Inventronics 160w Led Driver Constant Current Type Quad Channels Model : EUC - 1

This are the specs:
Constant current type. Input 100-240/277 Vac, 50/60 Hz, 2. 1A@100Vac Output 29-57 Vdc, 0.7Ax4 Vomax : 64Vdc. IP67

With them I got 8 Vero18 to power, i tried connectim them in parallel but they wont start, they will light up and turn off instantly.

Has anyone used this drivers before? I already solved the problem with another drivers but I want to make some use of this 2 drivers.

Which COBs should I get to build a proper light and make use of them, and how do I wire them? Becouse I cant see any 60v COBs, I tought splitting thr 64v trhu 2 chips at 0.7A would would but I dont know what I'm doing wrong.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Vero18s(B and C)have a forward voltage around 34v-34.5v at 700mA. If you put 2 in series(68-69v) you are exceeding the driver output voltage. The new Cree CMTs have 54v and CMAs 48v

i believe they said vero 18 which is not the common vero 29 your talking about. @Toaster79 will prob have better info and advice on this topic.i dont follow vero much or their data sheets. @trmntr have you tried taking one or 2 cobs off the wiring to see if maybe you are pulling too much power from this driver ?

Am talking about Vero18s. In series voltages are added, so if he said "splitting the 64v through two chips" am thinking in series(32v per chip).
Not enough for that driver.

Two Vero 18 D in series fit perfect, around 28v each COB.

This seem to be the perfect spot, will try with those COBs and see how it goes.

I've already sorted the older gen Vero18 with another driver, 8 chips at 300w at the wall.

They are white, i'm thinking in adding 4 x Cree CX3590 at 80w each warm, what do you think?

The size is for my 48"x24 tent, it cover all the surface.

So If I understand this right you have a 160W driver with 4 output channels. Each output channel can supply 29-57V and 0.7A. Single vero 18 pulls 28V at 700mA so that doesn't fall in the range of drivers minimum output less so if you hook up 2 of them parallel as they are gonna try to share those 700mA equaly and their Vf would drop to approximately to 27.3 V which is 1.7V below the drivers minimum. But if you wire them in series then they would fit the voltage range of the driver perfectly in pairs at 56.4V which is almost drivers max and the driver itself would run at highest efficiency in this case.

So you basically wire them 4 pairs in series 2 on each channel. 2S4P

To run a CXB at 80w you will need new driver

Yeah, I'm using another driver already. I just wanted to make some use of those 2. But already runing the Vero's at 40w each aprox. And thinking about adding 8x Vero18 3000k at 40w each or 4 CX3590 3000k at 80w each, what do you think. The active cooler on the Vero18 will fit another COB alonside and handle well the heat, so that some less money on the heatsinks that I can use to put some better LEDs or maybe some Red/UV (will this be efficient?)

If you want to get the max power output from those drivers your choice are the Vero 18 D, to run the CXB3590 you need to connect the outputs in parallel adding currents.
CXB3590 at Tc=50°C
34.4v@1400mA=48w and you can connect up to two COBs(96w)per driver
35.7v@2100mA=75w, one COB per driver
36.8v@2800mA=103w, one COB per driver

Adding monochromatic LEDs is much more efficient than using phosphor converted LEDs.
Am building my own, with 4 CMAs and I am going to add Cree XPE2 660nm, 730nm and royal blue. I intend to make them work in four separate channels.

This is actually a panel, I'm using a driver that's variable voltage and con output max 9A or something like this to connect all the 8 Vero18, will get another same driver to power those CX3590, Vero18s, Vero3070 or I could try the CMA maybe, I'm just figuring out
