I have been using it for 4 grows now and love it. also use the sweet candy and bud explosion.First grow with hydro
RDWC setup with big res
Rockwool
after an "exhaustive research" (lol) i have decided to go with megacrop nutes but i am wondering is there any additives that experts suggest i include in the grow?
I was wondering if there are cheaper alternatives to the additives from AN, like bigbud and the other common additives growers use from them, If megacrop will replace all this then great but if there are cheaper alternatives to the AN additives then i would appreciate the suggestions greatly!
Also any other tips would be much appreciated with my upcoming 6 site RDWC with rooted clones from west coast.
*edit- also, apologies in advance for asking about nutes but there is a lot of conflicting opinions online.
which product are you talking about from them? are you saying only run them or include one of their products?Megazime
megacrop has two other adds called bud explosion and sweet candy and im not sure on the soil part but im pretty sure MC products are for hydroMaybe... I just finished a run with Megacrop in coco/perlite DTW with RO water. I had to run CalMg. I also did a couple of treatments with Recharge for shits and giggles, but don't think it really added much. Otherwise I didn't use anything else. Not super familiar with AN products, but never heard of Sweet Candy. I know they have a product called Bud Candy that I'm pretty sure is for feeding soil microbes. Unless you're running beneficial microbes, don't see a reason for you to use it. Good luck with your grow!
Sorry dude. I thought you were referring to AN products. Don't have any experience with any of the other GL products.megacrop has two other adds called bud explosion and sweet candy and im not sure on the soil part but im pretty sure MC products are for hydro
oh no worries misunderstanding. AN does have a prod called bigbud, they have a lot of products that i cant remmeberSorry dude. I thought you were referring to AN products. Don't have any experience with any of the other GL products.
What is pk boost? and what is pk boost and magsulf used for? I have no idea about enzymes and microbes, please help me understand? are they heard to work with and necessary?I use mega crop V1 good for soil or hydro. Has a small amount of organics but still good I find in hydro. A pk boost for flower and I just add some mag sulfate near the end. I like to run enzymes and microbes currently in using raw microbes and hygrowzyme. Heard pondzyme and a few other work well. @Dirtbag had an enzyme product that looks good and I know he is also trying out the raw microbes.
thanks for this! so those are 4 different products you buy to make the microtea? as far as the MC, how you add this to the system, straight to res? Is there a guide for using nutes with rdwc?I add a microbe tea of hydroguard, great white, ancient forest, and aphrodites extraction (to feed the microbes). I mix them in their own 5 gallon bucket with air stone and let it bubble for 48 hours before top feeding my dwc reservoirs. Great White does a pretty good job of providing microbes on its own (without making a tea) but if you are dealing with summer heat making your res temps rise and your dissolved o2 drop then using a tea can act like a force multiplier to your beneficial microbe army and help to keep the bad microbes at bay. Other than that the megacrop seems to have it all.
@FourthCity named a few microbes. Before This I liked hydrogaurd and hygrowzyme. But these are changing and more options are available so as to what's best I can't say. I do know that hydrogaurd and hygrowzyme combo worked amazingly well for me but it's not cheap so I am exploring others. What is pk boost? and what is pk boost and magsulf used for? It is four products and the tea is probably overkill most of the year but it has really helped me out of some serious jams. Think of using the great white as like having private security protecting and aiding your roots where making the tea with all the ingredients is like having a full on military (and in this specific case excessive force is never a bad thing). One other benefit to the microbe tea is that you are actually breeding your own microbes which allows you to use a lot less of each ingredient per gallon of water. @Aquaman would be better at answering how best to use MC with rdwc. I grow dwc in individual buckets, I mix the nutes with water in a clean bucket and add to each reservoir as needed.thanks for this! so those are 4 different products you buy to make the microtea? as far as the MC, how you add this to the system, straight to res? i am undecided about that. Im in socal so im not sure how the tap water is but i def dont drink it, i cant afford a ro machine, so i guess the only option would be getting filtered water down the road which is not efficient or use tap, leaning towards tap for convenience. res is 27 gal and 6x 5 gal sites, so i estimated around 40-45 gals i will have. Will you be using tap water or RO water? I can give you a rough guide for feeding

RO until here for $80. Just found it for another member the other day. You will need a ph and ppm meter.i am undecided about that.
