just to smoke the shit outa her. gonna run her next time but i prob wont even keep a mom since i still got a whole pack of the s1's. just grabbed it cause its not gettin made any more. ive smoked her before and she is dank, but the wifi tastes better and hits you like a hammer and i wanna work thru a few more gems before i settle on something. im thinking a strain thats been s1ed prob wouldnt be the best for breeding. it would have to be more prone to hermy if the parents were chemically forced to reverse sex. ive even found a bean in a VERY reputable growers batch of what i read was the wifi #3. small and white, but it was there. im just sayin. i have no aspirations of breeding. the only cross i wanna see thats not there yet is alien headband... sour alien x fire alien... mmm... someone needs to do this(wink wink) i hear ya on bein short on cash after settin up a new room, but time flies and christmas is just around the corner. good luck on the new setup.

awesome, shanon doherty(?) iss doin commercials for online college... too funny

as in wash/pretreat the coco? no, i use canna straight out the bag.

or as in flush em with 3x the volume of water vs soil? no, and yes. the first few waterings were just ro water ph'd

Hey bro>>when flushing you dont PH your water<<>>you are flushing with acid doing so<<>which is defeating the purpose of flushing<<<Just plain RO water is fine:)

i was un aware... i wanna ask if youre sure, but im sure... you wouldnt post it if... i was always led to believe you dont wanna put anything on your plants outside the 5.5-6.5 ph range cause it would cause nutrient lockout and ph burn. so it should be at 7 for a flush? wouldnt that raise the ph in the coco causing those bad things? im confused also, my ro comes out closer to 8 than 7. so if i did nothing wouldnt this be flushing with base?(if 6 is acidic...) 7 being the middle on the 0-14 scale

You want to flush the last 7-14 days before your going to chop. And yes use plain un ph'd water.

Im not a coco expert but for flush you only want plain water so it will flush all the excess salts out of the medium. Hope this helps. ~ODB~

You dont need to worry about any of that anymore brah>>your plants are basically done when you have reached your flush point:)you are just now trying to flush all the bad out of your plants..2weeks minimum<<your leaves should be nice and yellow by then>>PH up and down is pure acid and just not something I want to flush with<<you will know if you flushed well when you smoke your dank and it burns down to a nice white ash:icon_cookie: Are you using any sweeteners/carbs??

>>>Also who buys ph up and down now a days????>>Use your nutrients for adjusting your PH<<

thanks odb, they were talkin about flushing veg plants, seedlings actually. i flush before chop with tap water... but i figure the plant is dying at that point. i get that you dont want anything in the water but if theyre still growing they need to drink the water to survive. and if they drink(uptake) the water better at a certain ph range to optimize growth... im just tryin to make sure i see things clear before i go doing something im a lil uncomfortable with...

also, how do you use your nutes to adjust ph? everything i put in my res makes it drop down down down. i could mix it with more ro, but that would dilute it... ?????

I just caught that Dz with your veg plants:)carry on mate:giggle<<<

Not sure what kind of nutrients you use but for my nutes>>I start with RO water, GH 3 part customized feed<<Cal mag, flora blend, silica blast for veg<< for bloom all of the listed plus budcandy, hammerhead and MOAB.
succanat during my flush:)
when everything is mixed in my rezzy's>>my ph is 5.8-6.2>>how I achieve that is let everything mix for 24 hours before even looking at my PH<<>>Your nutes have ph buffers in them and need time to do there work:) >>>Trying to adjust you PH right away is a common mistake and could lead you to chasing that shit all around..adding ph up and down all the time to compensate is no good either>>Also with most nutrients now like the advanced 3 part and gh 3 part are all ph'd balanced to simplify things.

no worries danny. im using h&g cocos. the h&g lineup plus a couple others, calmag, silica blast, carboload... but the seedlings been gettin a stupid light feeding... no base, calmag, enzymes, roots excel, algen, and a lil thrive alive, seriously mixed @ 200 ppm. i figured it was light enough for a couple week old seedlings but i guess it burnt #2&3.

it looks to me like they're underfed. at 200 ppm it's probably not lockout. try bumping it up to 0.7 mS of complete food (350-500 ppm depending on your conversion). hth

i'm not really breeding...just making a cross :) i can cross it with a bunch of good varieties. i hope that chemically induced hermy is better than genetic hermy as far as progeny sexing. stress induced hermy means that the plant is already sensitive to stress...not good.

I was under the impression that most plants will hermie when given the chemical treatment to reverse them. I know some strains are more prone to hermie, like Sour D, but I'm sure there are some strains that don't hermie just because you reversed the female for pollen.

"Feminised seeds warning..
Warning: when growing out feminised seeds there is always a chance that some nanners could pop up on some of the plants..especially when your setup isnt dialed in properly or if you stress them out a bit....Please keep an eye out on them and watch out for nanners...Then get ready for the dank!.........~ogr "

Just a thought.

Wow, that's great macro on your phone! I was screwing around one day with a buddies iPhone and took some videos through one of those $20 handheld pocket-microscopes. Man those came out really good quality, give it a try sometime.

Hey Dz I forgot to point out after adding all my nutes>>i add my silica blast last to bring my ph on point<< you will find you wont need any ph up or down ever.
mix your shit and add silica blast>>let it mix for about 24 hours<<and you will see how stable your ph will be. also mix your silica in some water first before dumping it into your rez to avoid lock out.
sorry i didn't explain that:passingjoint:

could you explain this a lil more.
so i bet this is prob my problem...?... i always tripped on how it made the water so cloudy. i always mixed good before watering though, usually with my 1/2hp utility pump in my res...youre just talking about the plants getting fed an unmixed high dosage of silica right? or does it somehow ionically bond to the salts in the nute? ive noticed the h&g drip clean makes it cloudy the same way, ive always thought thats how it worked. by attaching itself to the salts and makes em break up easier...
thanks
-dz

Yes exactly Dz<<>>that cloud you see is no good bro<< you dont ever want to see that when mixing nutes<<Some elements do get locked out becuase of this Potassium as well:)
Pour a lil separate water container and add your silica blast to that>>>Then slowly dump it in your reservoir>>>follow??
Doing so, you will see no cloud<<<>>nothing locked out<<and your ph will be on point:)<<<

ok, so im gonna eat some humble pie. i talk crap on smartpots but im pretty sure my problem was the pure coco drowning the roots cause the 2(1 wifi, 1 s1) that i have in smartpots grew thru it all and are my 2 biggest. ive done side by side from transplant to harvest and seen no difference, but this is the only other thing i can think of... been mixing my silica and drip clean in water first like gtd sugguested and am a believer that it was effecting something but im guessing it wasnt that big of a problem. all 8 seem to be back on track and have been topped except the runt... and #5 seems to be nute sensitive even whit ro the last couple waterings, but the big ones are getting some bigger leaves on em and ive got a few cuts from the more vigorous ones in the dome... been trimming and cleaning these past couple weeks to get ready to go again so hopefully i can flip em with the rest of my room in a couple weeks to see whats what

on a side note i grabbed a few packs from the most recent cali drop(if u havent heard) and couldnt wait to get em crackin. a few white master a few white urkle and a couple white skunk... the skunks popped up in under 48hrs...
