Found this guy on my vegging Blue Dream today. Haven't been able to ID it via google etc... wondering if its a beneficial (some type of ladybug?) or a potential problem.. can anyone ID it for me please?

I know lady bugs are good for your garden as they eat all the other insects im pretty sure. So as long as you are sure its a lady bug I think its fine

That’s an odd looking lady bug, and I doubt we’re I live we have different lady bugs lol.. maybe try a google search of “insects that attract to cannabis”

In New Zealand we have different kinds of lady bugs, the average red and black ones, also a dark almost metalic blue ones

Mahalo for all the replies...Ive already exhausted my googling skills ...thats why I came here haha. I have learned that there are quite a few varieties of lady bug, problem is, this guy doesn't look like any of 'em other than the similar body type. At any rate just to be safe I was gonna pick him off, but he flew away.
But keep the answers coming please, in case he comes back. Mahalo!

Its possible, but my guy wasn't that iridescent ...not so blue/green..more black/brown. Thanks

Maybe google stethorus punctillum? From the picture they look somewhat similar but it’s hard to tell. If so then you’re in very good luck because those things absolutely destroy spider mites
