Not sure if this is what mold looks like, almost looks like a cobweb. Can’t find it anywhere else in the tent.
Not a fun thing to hear. It would make sense as that bud is directly under the tents highest oscillating fan. It’s the only bud I can find with anything like it, here’s some better pictures. I bought a microscope off amazon to look at trichomes but unfortunately it’s impossible to use. This plant is mostly amber trichomes, I was thinking of harvesting it soon. Should I just cut this bud off and throw it out?look like spidermites webs:

Hey thanks for the good info. Ive seen those webs on my sage bushes years before so i know they are out in my hot dry desert. Im on high alert now.look like spidermites webs:

Does that mean op is screwed or can he fight back?that stage of a mite infestation has more than likely infested everything..
When the plant is in bloom is very difficult because you can only use water and hydrogen peroxide but he can control them until harvest time. If youre worried about your bushes, you can spray them with pesticides since youre not gonna smoke them or eat them, something organic like potassic soap or if theyre very resillient a pesticide based in citric acid or something like that.Does that mean op is screwed or can he fight back?
Ive done it in the past succesfully, discarded the ones with webs and kept the ones without webs, washed them with water and hydrogen peroxide (dont use lemon and baking soda, residues might get into the buds) and smoked them and it was okay.There is around 10% amber on each of the plants, but the one that has the webs I was planning to harvest today. Even the lowest buds have well over 30% amber, so now that I know I have spider mites I think I might just harvest all 4 plants today. I’m okay with sacrificing potency rather than the whole tent. Do you guys think if I chop everything, do a wet trim, and then a good bud wash I’ll be ok? I’ll just throw out those buds with webbing, I wouldn’t even want to smoke that anyways. If I can examine each bud and notice no webbing and give it a good wash, will this be ok?
Sorry I should have worded that better, that’s what I meant with chopping early so the mites don’t cause them more stress. I was planning on harvesting at least some today, so might as well chop them all to save damage. I’ll give them a good inspection and wash, hopefully I don’t find that there is much more webbing than what I found. I looked good for 30 minutes bending the branches, just glad I was able to catch it at least before it got worse. Next grow I’ll have to take more preventative measures.I would suggest that you use 2 or even 3 buckets though. The first one with the hydrogen peroxide and water and the other 2 to rinse them off with just water. Youre not gonna lose potency by washing them, trichomes are not only not water soluble but they are also hydrophobic. If anything reduced potency it would be the stress and damage caused by the spider mites.
What I did was cut each branch individually and inspected them all. I just threw out those that had webbing, luckily it was only around half a dozen on the same plant so they must have been enjoying the environment directly under the oscillating fan that was blowing above the plants. I have gave everything a bud wash with peroxide and then hung them to dry last night.you can clean affected bud with a bud wash:
