Just saw this filter on Amazon which removes 99.99% lead, chlorine, chloramine, fluoride ,and its only $135 Canadian . I was intent on finding one that removes Fluoride ,since there is one called Bud Booster which specifically talks about the importance of this since fluoride can affect flowering very negatively ,but that particular filter sells for about $285 US . I understand RO filters are very wasteful for water ,except maybe industrial ones. So therefore before I order one of these just want to get some opinions from tothers ,in case there is actually something better .

Looks like a plain rebadged 3 stage filtration system from here..and 3(+) x the price. I also would question the price and availability of replacement filters.there is one called Bud Booster which specifically talks about the importance of this
correction ,the Bud Booster didnt talk about this, but the ad for it did, lol , was practically falling asleep when I started this thread
I was wrong price is $348 ,and available to US residents only !

I Have terrible tap water where I live and have always had an RO filter for myself and dogs. I began using it for my plants and returned to tap water..It was actually better for the plants imo
That certainly isnt what I wanted to hear . Whats the point in bying a filter if some people say tap is better ? With RO water I know you have to use Cal Mag ,were you doing that ?

Well its kind of hard to imagine that there are trace minerals in tap so valuable that they would not only make up for all the fluoride ,chloramine, lead ,mercury and whatevr other poisons may be in there ,but be much more important than those things are damaging. How about if you added a bunch of things to the soil before like kelp ,alfalfa ,worm castings etc, to make sure all those minerals will be there for much of the grow, and you could even top dress as well ,or use organic teas . You could also use nutes that have as many minerals as possible . It sounds like you both know a fair bit about nutes though, so I feel like I am probably stating the obvious anyhow !The advantage of Ro water is that you are starting with near zero PPM's so you can tailor the feed to the exact amount of each element you wish to have in the water.
I believe what he found is that the tap water had trace elements the plants needed and responded too
also it may be worth pointing out that the Frizzlife filter "removes over 99.99% of harmful contaminants that are commonly found in water, including LEAD(99%), CHLORINE(99%), CHLORAMINE, FLUORIDE, HEAVY METALS, VOCs and much more." So maybe it doesnt remove everything ,just the harmful chemicals ?
I am just quoting directly from the ad,and am wondering if what I said after that is true, and if it is true then why wouldnt it be the best option?Ladies and Gentlemen we have ourselves a water filter salesman here!!!!!!!!!!
Does the plant up take the nasty minerals you have listed? I personnel just rely on a filter that removes chlorine and chloramine. I am on city water so unless I was in Flint I would not have to worry about the nasty stuff you listed above. But if you want to throw out the money for an expensive water filter have at it. Maybe you are getting a free demo?I am just quoting directly from the ad,and am wondering if what I said after that is true, and if it is true then why wouldnt it be the best option?
Expensive ? We are talking about filters ranging from about $60 -135 Canadian, or about $120 US for the Frizzlife . I could save that money in probably just one grow by not spending it on distilled water instead ! No Im not getting a free demo ,Ive already talked about trying to save money on something cheaper , Geez! You teallythink only Flint has to deal with Chloramine ,Cholarmine and Fluoride?
