ok so no help here yet, no issue.
2 hours of sorting thru the internet bullshit no bullshit threads, it's apparent that it is.
i have 1 more girl not looking so good but only 1 or 2 weeks left in flower max , so i think i can finish this round with minimal loss.
i learned that root rot can and does spread thru the air (spores) so i'll have to sterilize the room and all equipment before next round.
any nuclear options i can use?
a good vacuum and then spray bleach or h2o2 every where and let sit for a day or so?

To treat the water you can add hydrogen peroxide. Or beneficial bacteria. To prevent rot.

The nuclear method to sterilize requires the ability to vent a fairly dangerous cloud of fog that smells weird without it being a problem.

You grab some ordinary hydrogen peroxide from the drug store. Put it in a spray bottle. And you spray it all over the tent and all the surfaces. You turn on some fans. Remove the charcoal from the area. Remove all living things from the structure. All plants. All pets. Remove collectibles. And anything you don't want to nuke from the area. The you fire up an ozone machine for like 30 minutes to an hour with fans running. A sterilizing fog will form. Do not let it in your lungs. And when your done have an exhaust fan ready to go that you can turn on without breathing the fog.

You're now going to smell a mix of swimming pool and dentist office. And you can do a wipe down. It's serious sterilizing. Kills everything but tardigrades.

once again thanks Ponky, you've helped me a ton trying to learn this hobby.
i was thinking ozone generator but read that it harms any electronics, i assume that would mean it's not good for exhaust fans also.
my plants should be done with minimal loss, but what i meant to ask was what's the best way to sterilize the grow room when it's empty of plants?
as usual what i type or say isn't what my brain is thinking and it always comes out wrong.
i blame LSD and mushrooms for that as a teenager

I don't know if root rot can effectively spread in the air enough to contaminate other plants in separate containers, can it??

And sorry for your loss

Ozone is fine on exhaust fans. I wouldn't have it near a television. But I've done it a bunch. It's fine. More suspicious than anything. It does wreck charcoal filters.

Yes it can. It's also spread by bugs.

little update here.
all the girls ended up getting root rot 1 by 1 even though i'm positive only 1 was over watered from the start. i guess i does spread thru the air.
i used botanical disinfectant everywhere so i think i'm good that way.
but of course, another rookie mistake was made.
i had 2 auto's going with the dying photo's under 12/12 as an experiment and put them back in the room with the new grow attempt.
once i realized my mistake i thru them out, but now i'm worried my new girls might be infected.
what should i be on the lookout for for signs of root rot early? and any preventative measures i can do to the new seedlings.
growing in FFOF

Hm. I had one rot on me in this grow but it was totally my fault. Had the water level too high for too long in hydro. But it didn't spread in the air. I still think that is only possible if the other plants are already susceptible to disease by not being healthy anyway.

Not sure how you are getting this normally hydro issue in soil unless you are over watering.

Hopefully a soil grower can help. They might want to know your watering practices. The watering amount might be the best preventative in soil. In hydro I add beneficial bacteria to combat the source of root rot. But I never heard of someone needing it for soil

Yes I definitely screwed up with the over watering on the 1 plant.
Was just wondering how to tell early signs of rot in the new girls, I learned lots about proper watering from this site.
Thanks again everyone for the help

I would look for signs of over watering first, droopy leaves. I think the only way to notice root rot in soil is to see it's effects on the lower growth. The plant starts to choke and die. I saw a bunch of dead stuff and then put that with the fact that that plant wasn't even taking water like the other ones, and decided to toss it instead of trying to save it, which I probably could have.

You could also try adding some beneficial bacteria to your soil like great white. You don't need this per se in soil, but it wouldn't hurt it, and has stuff to fight root rot if it comes. I'm not a soil guy so I'm not 100% how long it works in soil after adding

Great white is the shizznit. I dust my seeds with it, dust roots at transplant, mix with my soil sometimes. It is great stuff that helps plants recover and grow super fast. Big upgrade to your root game in soil.
