I grow outdoors in my backyard and want seeds on just a few branches on my females.
Question...... does anyone have any ideas on how to isolate males within my 20 feet by 30 feet backyard?
Or any ideas on how to allow a male to go to pollen without pollinating females in the backyard?
Thanks in advance.

They dont have to be big to make flowers (or buds) - you could make a clone and grow it in a small makeshift grow box indoors. I dont think youd have any control over an outdoor male.

I see. So I think you're saying...., make a clone of outdoor male and let that go to seed...... and because it's small, it's easily isolated or brought inside. If I got that wrong, let me know. Thanks.

Alternatively Take pollen from the male you like and save it for pollination and cut the males down.

Let males grow until they’re just about to bust open cut a branch or a few depending on how much pollen you want. put said branches in a jar of water inside with them leaned over put parchment paper or whatever you want to collect pollen on under flowers to catch dropping pollen.

Yes, if you have an outdoor male thats in veg right now - take a clone (or 2 or 3) and as soon as its settled, put it inside under 12/12 light (In a closet or a box or something)
Probably take a few weeks for them to flower - and then takes 6 weeks for the seeds to form in the females, so plan accordingly.
But, Ive flowered small clones of both sexes @ 8-10" in 4" pots.

How do I tell when they are about to bust open? Any signs to look for? Thanks.

Understood. My concern is preventing any pollen getting to my females since all my plants are in the ground in my backyard.

I would run with Juliandos method if you’re not sure on when pollen sacks will open.

Yeah, I think I'll try his way. I also thought about leaving just a few branches on the male, and putting those branches in paper sandwich bags, tape up the openings, and let the pollens fall inside the bags when they bust open. I think those branches would survive on the plant 1 to 2 weeks(?) since paper bags are breathable and probably let in enough light. I just scored some original version of granddaddy purple seeds and want to get seeds and preserve the strain.

Late to the game, but. I kept a male and female from reg seeds I popped. The female is in ground, the male is in a pot ( kept outside)

My plan is to bring the male back inside when he's close to popping open, then collect pollen far from the girls.
