Two weeks ago, I performed topping on a photoperiod plant that was grown from feminized seeds. At that time, the plant was 8 weeks old and approximately 50cm tall. It is planted in a 9-liter clay pot, and I water it every 2 days with Biobizz fertilizer (4-3-6 NPK ratio). I was using a 150W CFL light placed about 50cm away from the plant, but I learned that it might be too close. The temperature is 23 degrees Celsius, and the humidity is 50%. I haven't noticed any insects or pests, and the plant looks healthy.

After the topping, there was a period of about 2 hours without light due to modifications in the grow room. The next day, the plant started flowering. I switched to a 45W LED light that provides a full spectrum of light, and I changed the lighting schedule to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness. I also switched to a fertilizer with an NPK ratio of 2-7-4.

After an additional 2 weeks, I've noticed that the flowers haven't developed further, but the plant has continued to grow rapidly. My question is whether the plant might be developing banana nanners or exhibiting hermaphroditic traits. This is my first time growing, so I'm not very knowledgeable, and I would greatly appreciate your assistance.

In photos is how it looks now:

I also have an autoflowering plant that already has developed buds, and I'm certain that what appeared on the first plant are not leaves but organs.

Thank you for your help.

That’s just some preflower calyx, some strains show those early, it’s also telling you to flip when they show up,….

Thank you for answer, but what do you mean by "flip when they show up" ? To change the program to flowering stage ?

Preflower show up in veg when the plant is about 60 days old, when you saw the preflower you changed light schedule to 12/12, but you had just topped it. What's done is done and I do not suggest moving it back to 18/6 now as I am not sure how long it's been on 12/12. The issue here is you just topped it, the new branches on the topped area have not had time to develop. When you change light to 12/12 the first 2-3 weeks is considered the stretch phase, this is when your branches/heads/bud sites build the structure for the colas. This is a crucial time for end production. Because you topped and then switched to 12/12 you are not maximizing the plants yield or potential for big colas. It's not the end of the world and you will probably still have a decent yield but you did lose some. Just keep that in mind for next time. I agree those are just pre flower and nothing to suggest a Hermie.

You said you have autos already budding also? Are those in same tent? Changing the light schedule on an auto from 18/6 to 12/12 is not a good thing, again not the end of the world or anything, but will effect yeild. Hopefully the autos and photos are not under the same light.

There is no wrong way to grow, you have not grown it the wrong way, you have grown it your way. As the first grow you will learn ways to improve yield and increase the speed of growth. That will take time. For the future i would suggest waiting a while after topping before you change light to 12/12.

Thank you for your response. I had the autoflower plant in the same tent on a 12-12 schedule for last 2 weeks. Today, as a preventive measure, I moved the plant that I thought was hermaphroditic to another tent, so I could switch the autoflower plant to an 18-6 schedule. It has been on a 12-12 schedule for 2 weeks. Do you think it's a good idea to switch it back to 18-6 if I've already moved it to 12-12?

The auto flower should be fine going back to a 18/6. One thing to watch out for, is that light stress on any plant can cause them to be Hermie's. Two hours of dark time during light hours for maintenance, switching from 18/6 to 12/12, two weeks later switching back to 18/6. You should be fine but try to keep lighting steady from here out. Less changes the better.

Anyway we can get a personal grow journal on our profile page, one that others can see if they go to your profile, but is not associated with the forums. More setup like a blog rather then a forum topic. Same structure as a forum post just one that doesn't actually post to the forum. Just a little personal place for us to keep track of our grows without bumping a topic on every post.

I would just be in there posting a bunch of dumb stuff that doesn't even make sense, but will quiet the voices in my head, ya know, all plant related. I don't want y'all to think I'm crazy. Maybe give ability to make it private. Lmao pass that along to the dev, I would enjoy that feature.

Okay sorry for crashing the topic with off topic stuff, we will now return to the normal broadcasting on this channel. Any other questions @richard1806 ?

Thanks @Pilted . I now understand why the autoflower started developing slower. I recalculated and realized it has been on the 12-12 schedule since last Tuesday, so for 6 days. I hope it will start developing buds faster after switching back to 18-6. Do you have any advice on what I can do to make the buds mature faster and produce trichomes?

It is blueberry autoflower week 10, I did not give her much water and fertilizer, just after 4 weeks, only half of the recommended dose and for the last 2 weeks full recommended dose.

Looks good, I'm not the one for autos, very little experience with them. For photos I would suggest early training in veg, try to make an even canopy so you can keep main heads in the proper light, and then give them time, there is a saying a watched pot never boils. It's your first grow you probably in there looking multiple times a day, hard to see growth like that,. Your plant has to learn how to grow with all those hairs and buds developing, keep it steady, keep it healthy, give it time to get into it's grove on flower and bud development will speed up. 10 weeks your on track, still lots of time for the buds to swell, keep her happy and she will figure it out.

Even canopy, for me that's key to big harvests.

Yes, that's what I'll do for the next run. Right now, I didn't want it to produce a lot. I just wanted to make sure I didn't stress it at all, and it will still produce something.
