Samcro, Purpleberry... this is a good conversation. I spent quite a bit of time talking to the aptus guys at the at the Denver trade show and asked all of these questions... before that I had heard from some good friends who are very successful large growers in CA who had switched form their long held recipes to aptus, which sparked my initial interest. Aptus is a whole other level, it was developed over a decade ago for large organic commercial agriculture in EU and in the last 6 years taken over the additive market in holland and now spreading through Europe. I'm on it now and totally sold... concentrated, simple and results. Yea, 5lit of Fasilitor cost a lot but it mixes 9,000gal! I've spent time doing the math on the whole line and it makes sense... I think we'll see a huge aptus trend in the states this year. You'll be happy when you give it a go, :D grower to grower...

Simply put, is that added cost accounted for in higher and better quality yields? Enough to justify the differential? Danks.

Hum. I remember when H&G hit the states. It was 2 to 3 times the cost of anything else in the shop. Sat on the shelves for ever. The price came down and what do you know more people use it. I bet that in a couple years there line will be more realisticly priced. I have yet to see it anywhere around here though so who knows?

Just reverse engineered CNS-17 veg. Pretty easy.
Added micros.
Bumped up the Mg a little.
I can only imagine what a Jack-size nute bill must be like.
I no longer have a nute bill.

Jack's and Doutchtouch's plants both look great with the Aptus no doubt. But I feel like mine look just as good using JR Peters pro hydro with cal nit and epsom plus a little chlorine for sterilization. About $250 shipped makes about 6000 gallons of nutrient solution if my calcs are right.

Lol jr peters pro hydro.. Roflmao. Im sure your garden is as nice as jacks. End of day plant food is plant food but companys are big biz now and finding more effective feeds n nutrient combos to max out results. So using some 1980s powder nutes u found in your grandmas basement mixed with bagseed isnt gonna give u a jack room. Im sure if utilized advanceds line to the fullest one could achieve similar results..

Excuse me Illmind but I did not say my room was as nice as Jack's (which is nice and all due respect to Jack). Just that my plants look very healthy with a simple nut formula. Paying more for nuts does not make them better. Nuts I've used in the past include: H&G, Canna, Advanced, CES, Pure Blend, Gen Hydro and probably more that I am forgetting. Not to mention I've tried a million and one additives, benes, and ACT teas. But with the simple formula I am using right now my plants look as good as they ever have. Aptus are obviously great nutes, the question is what do they give you for the extra dollar? More Taste? Yield? Smell? Frost? Because for the prices that are being talked about they should give you something for the extra dollar. Are they quantifably or qualitatively worth the price? That is the question.

And please illmind check the attitude, I am here for a civil, constructive conversation.

If Jack ran Jack's ;)
In his environment(which is always hella dialed obviously)
It would probably look awesome as hell.
Environment will affect morphology hugely.

Nute ratios are as old as time.
New applications of PGRs are some of the only actual advances in nutritional inputs.

i no longer have a nute bill either ..i use dry mixable nutes and cal/mag thats all
Sure you can run every nute out there and have good results. But when you want to be ahead of the game it takes tryin g new things some work some dont this one does...
...my plants grow well and LOOKgood but NOT as good as Jacks..thats for sure.....sure i don't use co2 but i also don't work as hard as he does...
In the end if paying 660 $ a litre to have some additive that really does work enough to make it costeffective...then i will do it..
i will not be holding my breath until i do though.

Lets be fair just beacuse the Hydro store bottle says 500.00 thats not actually what any of us really pay... I dont think this is being tailored to the small grower but I could be wrong all I know is it works great I do think it needs more sugar / Mollases I add this already with my Capular tea brew so its covered. I doubled the dose of Fasilitor week 2 - 3 on 1 Chemdog #4 deep chunk in a 5 gallon smart pot with a 3 week veg and the plant after harvested ended up weighing 226 grams It completly blew me away. I could care less if any one buys this stuff all I know is it works...

WOW that is some serious weight for a 5gal!!! have you used advanced connie b4?? I love connie amazing results and i thought 85 per gal was expensive but aptus is like 10x more thats crazy I would love to see the results with advanced connie used as your base for a aptus run. It has really got to be an amazing out come to spend as much for your additives as you would on a car for! I can't wait to see the pics coming I'll deff have to give these a try as soon as they drop the price a couple 100 per bottle any way sick line up jack you truly are one of the best there is stay frosty my friend one love!

Connie is similar to Heavy I have used it they are both good base nutes.. I think every one is not under standing I did not use Aptus every watering I only used it once a week and twice during week 4 -6 the rest of the time I used just Base nutes with nothing added so all together I can run 3 x 20 light rooms on one order of Aptus. Plus every one is reading into the retail prices every one knows they dont pay what the bottle says at the hydro store. Canna Boost says $600 at the hydro store thats not what it really cost thats the hydro store game. Once again if your doing a small grow and you think the price is to much then dont buy it..And if some one thinks its easy to just reverse engineer go ahead and do it . I have better things to do like pump out 5 harvest a year at 2 to 3 per... So keep bitching about over priced over hyped nutes .. Next round is Chow mix with just base nutes and Chow mix with Aptus... This round hit 2.4 per light..

nice work. you put your time in. no need to defend that. a lot of these folks are looking for a magic bullet.

don't think for a second though that there arent other grows doing that and then some every run. not trying to offend, just a fact. not everyone feels as comfortable as you snapping countless shots of their rooms to parade on the internet.

have fun with that chow mix next time. you gonna likey! if your interested in saving some premix time and effort check out gold labels 80/20 mix, good stuff. those 4x4's are gonna be pretty heavy with chow!

peace

I think this is pretty hilarious, all these people commenting on his use of aptus and yet they havent even used it. So how could possibly know how good or bad it is.Yeah its expensive, but it looks like Jack had has best run yet. If you followed his threads long enough he has done runs with multiple nutes and additives, so that means something. We all know you could use minimal inputs and still put out great quality. Lets be honest most of us dont have rooms dialed in like Jack. For some people aptus wouldnt be a good decision, just due to the fact that everything else you in your room needs to be running close to perfect. So its probably not for everyone, but results are results.

If you feel he should try something cheaper and make his own nutes. Throw some pics of your stuff and what #'s your pulling down, and maybe he would be persuaded.
But when a grower has their best run to date, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! peace
