Well, I did some reconfiguring. I placed JH#1 into flowering on the 18th. the temps in this chamber we sitting at 95+ with only this plant and all the lights on. In my other grow, this chamber sat at a near constant 84 with two plants. I added a second exhaust fan, and the temps are sitting around 91 with one of the lights unscrewed.

Now the veg chamber only has a few plants - the new Bubblelicious mom, LSD #1 and the first two clones from JH#1 - one of which I just transplanted. She will be the new JH#1 mom. I added a second exhaust in this one as well, and temps are sitting at 88-89 with all the lights on.

I don't get it - why are my temps so damn high?

Anyhow, all the new clones are rooting (6 Bbl and 3 JH). Should be moving them all into veg soon, and probably toss a few directly into flower once they show a little growth.

The LSD#1 is responding to the feeding and greening up.

Gave the BBL#1 clone a watering with some spectracide, as I saw a few little bugs - and see a few more that survived. I am so over these damn things. One more watering with spectracide I guess. Pics:

Maybe try taking the mylar out or flip it over to the black side and see if that helps with the temps

Just checked my temps after letting it sit for a few hours. The veg chamber is sitting at 85-86. Higher than I would like, but acceptable for now. If I turn a bulb off, it may drop it a few more degrees.

The flower chamber was sitting right at about 84, with one CFL turned off.

All acceptable for now, but I really do need to find a way to dial them back some.

Alright, so I decided to try LED for flowering. I went with one of the cheaper lights, mainly because my flower box is so small. I am going to see how this one does and then adjust my setup with either a stronger LED or supplemental lighting. The BIGGEST reason for me to switch to LED is because of the temp issues I have.

Right now in the house, the thermostat is off, house is 69, but the room the plants are in is probably 5-6 degrees higher, and the closet a few degrees higher still. Flower box is steady at around 76! Finally have flower temperatures that are within a normal, ideal range.

I am considering switching veg over to LED also, for temp reasons. I figure this one Glow Panel 45 (28w draw - it's tiny compared to some of the others) would be plenty for veg, in my small veg chamber.

A few pics - the 82 degrees you see is because I took the pic about 30 mins after installing the light. 30 mins and the temp had already dropped 5 degrees

Now, we shall see how this performs wrt to budding!

And here's some more pics from today
You can see LSD is greening up after a shot of nutes. Last watering was spectracide I think, might dose it one more time with nutes. It's almost a month old, and this is how runty it is. sheesh.

The new BBL mom isn't looking so hot. She looked great until the last day or so. She's transplanted, and was dosed with spectracide last night - hoping she recovers - but we shall see.

The new JH mom is doing well.

Got a few seeds germming in the cloner. One Dinafem Blue Hash (quick flowering, hope this one sprouts!) and three Seedsman Seeds Purple Bud.

Also got a few bagseeds to pop. In the pic, the one on the left almost died. I was able to get her to recover and sprout though.

I should note, the JH clone in the flower box looks happier today :)

4/24 - transplanted 5 of the 6 Bubblelicious clones and stuck two directly into flower - the rest are in veg and will veg for about a week or two and I will toss two more into flower. Jock Horror clones are not showing roots yet.

Jock Horror #1 is looking happy, despite the current yellowing. I noticed the JH Clone is bending a little towards the light, but not stretching.

BBL#1 mom is looking rough. Maybe this is just a runty pheno, or maybe I'm just a noob. I foliar fed her today with some nutes, and same for the LSD. I don't know what's going on with this thing, it's now showing dark spots. Just fed her again late yesterday I think.

Purple Bud #1 has sprouted (you can see it in the dome shot above. I transplanted today into a party cup and stuck in veg.

I've got my eye on a GLH Spectra 180 for the flower box. Any thoughts?

Some updated pics!

JH#1 in flower looks to be stabilizing. The yellowing/brown spots seemed to have stopped - but not going away - and not that I really expect them to. A few tips are yellowing/browning and may be indications of slight nute burn. I will take it easy with her on nutes for the next week.

JH#1 Clone 1- the new Jock Horror mom. She is growing just like the plant she came from, as expected. She's like a peen with a 70's bush around it, all the way up. She has some weird leaf formations, but I have seen other people mentioning this from Jack Herer, and I want to say it may come from the Skunk side? The leaves grow all lumpy, and twisted and then straighten out, or "grow out of it". Notice the original JH#1 in flower doesn't exhibit this as much, her leaves have straightened, but their are still real tight together. Notice the node spacing on JH#1 clone 1 (the new mom)? The original was a bitch and a half to top because it's so damn thick. Suppose this is a Indica trait?

LSD #1 is looking rough. She greened up after the first shot of nutes, then plateaued, so I gave her another shot. Now she's not looking so hot. Dark black like spots forming on the margins. Almost looks like late P def, but really? With two feedings that close?

Finally got a Purple Bud to sprout!

Bubblelicious #1 Clone 1 is still looking sick as hell. I wonder, I did just transplant her before she really looked bad. Could this be stress from that?

Some more pics from yesterday. BBL#1 is a gonner. I think either this is a runt pheno, or I am just that newb at growing. I expected this at some point, as I still have a lot to learn. She seems like she has stopped taking up water, but she has to be taking up *some* or she would be dead. The pot stays wet for like a week. I am sure she is super stressed.

Anyhow, I ordered a new pH meter, and this one actually works. Here is what I found out: my tap water is currently pHing high, 7.5-7.6. However, the lime I have added to the plants (and mixed in with some) is stabilizing most of the pH for the plants right at 7. I am still pHing my water down to around 6.5-6.8.

My "broken" pH meter also reads ppm and uS. ppm for my fert mix (remember, this is for soil) is only reading 260ppm, and that's a full dose of nutes. Is this low? Maybe I need to read how to calibrate the ppm meter? Tap water reads like 150 ppm. 1/2 dose nutes read ~240ppm.

JH#1 (the original) is showing some wicked rust spots. The progression so far seems to be: barely noticeable yellowing on the very tip of fan blades. Then dark rust spots appear in the MIDDLE of the leaf, then yellowing starts around those rust spots. Mg def? You can see it in the pics of the bigger flowering JH#1.

Pics are day 12 of flower for JH#1 and like day 9-10 of flower for JH#1 clone. I think the two BBLs have only been in there for about 5-6 days or so.

well, seems I may have found out one of my problems - I have been using Schultz 20-30-20 all purpose nutes. They are old, something my wife had laying around she bought several years ago.

When I mix at the full dose, the ppm reading was 250ish.

I went and picked up some MG all purpose and some MG bloom ferts, to be used between this and my veggie garden. When I mix this, the ppm is reading around 1200ppm.

So yeah, I was giving my plants almost no nutes, apparently. Actually, I don't know WHAT I was giving them. I am sure that is probably the reason for the vast majority of my issues.

Feedings from here on out will be with new nutes.

No Offense but Miracle Gro is quite possibly one of the worst things you can use for cannabis...Really you dont want to use this on plants you will smoking bro.. Im just trying to help out.. Do yourself a favor and invest a little dough in a quality Nutrient... Theres dozens out there thatll help you achieve good results........not in any order.... Botanicare,Humbolt Nutrients,AgeOldOrganics,FoxFarm, these are all very common and will do a lot better for your smoke and vegg than MG.....

I have to use these for things other than just cannabis. I have a family to support as well, and I have sunk enough money to what I already have. Nutes are nutes. Some are better, but nutes are nutes and they all accomplish the same goal. It's a small personal grow.

Well I understand your financial dilemma and I was only trying to help.. But your dead wrong ... Nutes are not Nutes... There are vast differences and MG is the Monsanto of Nutrients..Pure crap....

thanks for the neg. I learn just fine - but MG isn't the *worst* thing I can do. It's not the best for sure, but it's not the worst.

Need to get new pics up.

Ordered a new LED for the flower box - a GLH Spectra 290. I have HUGE reservations about placing that kind of cheddar down on a light. But unfortunately, I do not have the space nor cooling capacity (or space) for a HID, or I would just went with a 250 or 400w. CFL were too hot, a HID would probably end up in me burning the house down.

Will be moving the current GlowPanel45 into the veg box and removing the CFLs from there.

As for plant progress - all the Bubblelicious clones that rooted are doing well and looking nice and gree and strong with the change to the MG nutes and properly pHing my water.

The LSD #1 is in flower and has stretched some - she continues to green up.

The big JH#1 in flower still has a spotting issue. Backing off nutes to see if it was nute burn. Despite that issue, flowers are getting bigger. This marks day 23 in flower.

The rest of the plants in flower are doing ok. The JH#1 clone is finally starting to show flowers, and the two Bubblelicious should start showing flowers within the next week.

Pics tonight or tomorrow!
