A couple things I've been thinking were to use the inline drip emitters...run the 6" spaced soaker line with several loops...or just by a deluxe punch tool and make my own. I'm skeptical about the Halo Rings your talking about as well.
I wouldn't use soaker hose or the lines with the 6" spacing cuz your going to have to wrap it around the stalk multiple times and probably wind up clogging anyway.
Compression fittings you can remove to put around the stalk and whatever diameter you prefer.
