ec and ppm are the same thing, there are 2 scales ,one if 5 and one is 700,i use the 500 scale, even though those number on ppm might be difrent,ec scale is the same in any country

thank you for that. So on the 500 scale what should I look for in the drained water. I got a some more homework on this stuff but basically if I’m puttin in say 600 ppm what would I want to see out?

600 would be best ,but wont happen unless fresh soil, but as close to it as you can get,if you put in 600 and 700 comes out you are good,if it comes out 750 tom 800 then i would feed water one time to wash a little out, mainly what you want is the 20% runoff every time, when you have that runoff you are washing the old salts out replacing with new if you dig

looking good, just right, the media is holding on to what 368 ppm ,i still think next feed water only, the 368 would be fine if the ph wouldnt have raised, went from 6.1 to 6.4 threw the bucket,so def still a build up there, feed water next round

so now do a slurry test
1:2 soil and water, take 1 part soil and 2 parts water, stir it up real good,do this in a jar or glass, after stiring the mix up and use ro or distilled water, let it sit for about 30 min ,let it settle, then take your ph pen and measure the liquid between the top floatin stuff and the bottom silt, this will give you the ph of your soil
