Let her grow about 7 nodes tall and topped her at the 4th. Was originally going to mainline but there were so many strong branches underneath I figured I’d just let her do her thing with a little LST in a few days.

I have to confess, I'd be scared to. What are the right conditions and methods to do so?

I'm doing the same exact thing right now! Looking good 👍🏻

What exactly do you mean? Scared to mainline? If so, same lol something about cutting 90% of the plant bothers me even after watching hours of videos claiming it’s fool proof.
YES! Like... couldn't I just punch myself in the face really hard? I'd try to root it somewhere else desperately lol. What if it's an elaborate troll by one lonely anon?

It looks fine and you’re doing a good job. Only thing I would do is if you’re interested in exponentially increasing your yield on that plant as I would start to pin out all of the new shoots that decide to grow, out and away from each other in order to maximize the light to every part of the plant. as it grows up and turns up towards the light wait till it gets a few inches tall And take a small stake and pin it outward towards the edge of your pot and repeat with all available stalks, making every node possible available to the light I top most of my plants at the third node of true leaves right as they get in veg
Some pics of earlier grows.
You also end up with some pretty rad self support and canopies with a lot of the heartier strains these days

That’s exactly what I was planning on doing. I topped yesterday morning and after about 2-3 hours I couldn’t believe how quickly it bounced back. I was going to wait about three days after top to do lst like your pics but I’m definitely going to go ahead and start tonight seeing that all the under branches are already as high as the canopy.
12 hours after top

Dang Capt you can really mainline well. Good pics for us who don't do that cause it's scary eeek

Inspirational is what it is. My first real training attempt is paying off and seeing Cap's work is a huge help to what's possible. I can't wait to run out my auto seeds and do this properly with photo plants.

I followed the mainlining tutorial on Grow Weed Easy to a tee and it has worked fine except that chopping all those leaves and branches off the plant so young really set it back a while. I’m in hydro and the plants were growing like wildfire before the chops (and after recovery too), but I ended up having to veg for a full six weeks. Next time I will do exactly what @Captspaulding showed in his post above and not have to wait for the plant recover from such a major whacking twice. My plants are doing great now and a pretty even canopy, but I don’t think it’s any better than other lst methods. If fact, the way the mainline grows in a line, it’s tough filling up the 2x2’ square I have for each plant in the tent.
You might want to consider scrogging too. If done right It makes a perfectly even canopy that does fill the tent and there’s no waiting for recovery.
