Hello I just purchased my first grow tent lights and fan used from a friend planned to do my first outdoor grow this year but now I also have a tent, purchased 6 auto seeds and 6 photo looking for advice I’d like to have outdoor semi low maintenance plants and also a few in the tent to start learning on so I know a few things before outdoor season is over.the tent is a Vivosun 2x5,2 200w serwing led lights , 4 in inline fan carbon filter , are these lights going to be sufficient for growing? I’d like to start all my plants for indoor and outdoor next week
Welcome! I tried looking up those lights, but couldn’t find anything that listed the true watts! Might say on a sticker that’s on them! But for 40 bucks apiece, I wouldn’t get my hopes up! Some of these companies practice deceptive advertising! If they say 500 W, it actually pulls 100 W from the wall! I think the same thing might be going on with yours but not sure! Just a heads up to do a little investigating! 200 W might mean 60 W actual! Just two cents! I think what you be looking for is the input wattage! A lot of times the output wattage is deceiving! That 200 watts means the light is putting out as much light as a 200 W incandescent bulb! A 200 W LED lightbulb pulls about 25 W from the wall! So I think you’re looking at about 25 W each! Give or take! Just FYI! Just ordered a mars hydro on sale tsl 2000 300w! Got 6blue dream6 white widow germinating now pumped to get started half my plants are going outsideYeah, I don’t think those are gonna carry you through a whole grow! But there’s always a use for them at the seedling and early veg stage! Right on Maine!
I’m from upstate nyNow you’re talking! Outdoor growing in Maine is no picnic! From what I’ve seen! Good thing you have an indoor set up.
I love Groundswell.Got two cheap clip on fans 2 timers and a temp/ humidity meter got everything running 24/7 to see what temps I get with everything running . Also grabbed two different bags of dirt and worm castings still not sure what to do for soil but thought about blending these together for a start .possibly germinating both my indoor and outdoor plants in the next few days ! Any advice or tips are greatly appreciated this is my first real grow and I need all the help I can get ! View attachment 2417852View attachment 2417853View attachment 2417854
Since this light is an upgrade I’d recommend that you get a light meter so you don’t inadvertently toast your plants if you don’t use one already. They’re available in standalone and there’s a really good app called Photone.Just ordered a mars hydro on sale tsl 2000 300w! Thanks for the advice I did go by the light power level on the chart that came with it but I’ll look into the app also can borrow a handheld meter from electrician at workSince this light is an upgrade I’d recommend that you get a light meter so you don’t inadvertently toast your plants if you don’t use one already.
