Kief BHO Warning

Watch out, this stuff exploded out of the bottom of the tube on me twice! Lost everything, 2 oz plus, sticky mess everywhere. tore thru 5 layers of coffee filters. It was half ground up bud and half kief, it was even mixed not seperate.

Ive run BHO probably 50 times and ive never had this happen before. why would kief do this?

I feel stupid and empty handed! Dont let this happen to yall!

I think im gona go purchase some cheese cloth's for future BHO ventures.

dude you need to pack the tube with something to keep it from getting clogged think boiling chips to keep flasks from "bumping" otherwise known as boom. word of advice check out iso extracts esp w/keif/kif you have alot less chance of pulling out green w/ it. hope that helps a lil.

I think you'd better purchase a thermos to wash your kief in butane at athmospheric pressure.

Also many forms of metal mesh/screen that can be doubled,tripled etc. and a hose clamp.

it can form a solid mass and cause a flow block, resulting in a forcefull release when it overcomes the blockage.

one stainless metal mesh screen is all you need to ensure no problems in that scenario

I use a screen every run just to be safe. I think its the best solution.

for kief i use either marbles or dragon tears or stacked screens. the tubes i see for sale around here come with screens for packing

Thanx for the tips guys, i had another run today with just 1 oz of kief no bud. I used cheese cloth and 1 coffee filter and a few rubber bands to secure it.

It worked, very stable.

30g of kief yielded 11.2grams of oil! yay!

Had me few Kief blow outs , pretty scary and funnie at same time , trippy how makes a mortar blast pattern from what ever shape of container used , perfect 360 blast pattern lol

i found a little bit of trim here and there keeps it from cementing up can creating back pressure , only use 1 filter
And DONT pack it!!! The marbles sound like a great idea!!!!! great thinkin!

sometimes ii get a killer batch , and it will come out looking like blood syrup

you gonna post any pics? how did it come out compared to the flower runs youve done in the past?

i use double coffee filter only now, but i went through a learning curve that involved resin laden eyes, so i know the whole deal :) if one has any doubts, a metal screen is a nice safety item.

Did a little kief myself, with some old trim. 3 oz. dry shake trim+5 grams kief,3 cans tane=4 grams oil. Added kief to trim then did a little shake and bake(means I shook bag and took a bong hit. HA!) before adding to tube.
