Of course fuckhead Tipton gotta be involved...

DENVER (AP) -- Marijuana groups representing thousands of patients and caregivers are suing to block Colorado's sweeping limits on how pot can be sold starting Friday.

Four groups, including the Rocky Mountain Caregivers Cooperative and the Cannabis Patient Alliance, planned to file suit Thursday in Boulder County. The lawsuit seeks to void large parts of a law passed last year setting up the nation's most regulated pot marketplace.

The plaintiffs say lawmakers went too far in requiring caregivers to do more than grow pot for their patients, and that caregivers shouldn't be limited to five patients or banned from making a profit.

The lawsuit also challenges whether patient information should be available to tax regulators or law enforcement, not just the health department. Advocates say that because the constitutional amendment passed by Colorado voters in 2000 described a "confidential state registry" maintained by the health department, others in government shouldn't be able to see who is using pot.

"It's a fundamental violation of the constitution," said Kathleen Chippi, a plaintiff in the suit and president of the Patient & Caregiver Rights Litigation Project.

The lawsuit came hours before regulations set up to comply with the 2010 law take effect July 1. The regulations also give dispensaries hundreds of pages of regulations, including mandatory video surveillance of all transactions and rules governing how marijuana can be grown and turned into edible products such as pot brownies.

A second Colorado marijuana law, mostly refining the one passed last year, also takes effect Friday. That law isn't being challenged by the marijuana advocates, but they say they may challenge that one next.

Another plaintiff, Timothy Tipton of the Rocky Mountain Caregivers' Cooperative, said he's most interested in challenging the caregiver restrictions. Tipton says it's unfair to say that dispensaries can make a profit, but home growers serving small numbers can't.

There's considerable time and expense associated with this," Tipton said of growing small amounts of marijuana.

The lawsuit filed Thursday did not address new rules on dispensaries. Some advocates have vowed to challenge some of those regulations, especially a requirement that dispensaries grow 70 percent of the pot they sell.

A marijuana advocate in Colorado Springs who isn't part of the lawsuit said most commercial pot shops are going ahead with compliance and not suing. But Tanya Garduno, president of the Colorado Springs Medical Cannabis Council, added that many are hoping the lawsuit prevails - or that lawmakers loosen rules as the industry matures.

"We're hoping that as people see this isn't a criminal-riddled business the regulations will open up a little bit," Garduno said.

Am I the only one who has noticed that all the laws, rules, and regulations they pass seem to be aimed at one thing... making sure no poor people make money on this. That seems to be the purpose and intent of every law they pass. They don't seem to have a problem with marijuana, as long as no poor people are able to make money on it. That seems to be the only issue, and the focus of all laws and regulations. Making sure no poor people are able to make any money on this. They don't appear to care about anything but this one issue, and they seem to be in a panicked frenzy over it.

Why is that?

It is because we live in a fascist nation. The media and government keeps talking about freedom, national pride, etc. MEANWHILE, they are stripping us of every bit of freedom we have, while we watch American Idol. It is pathetic. I hope we don't give them too much power- if we don't wake up and re-take control of our government, we'll end up like the Soviet Union.

The 14 Characteristics of Fascism
by Lawrence Britt

Free Inquiry Magazine, Spring 2003
www.globalresearch.ca 7 November 2004

The URL of this article is: http://globalresearch.ca/articles/BRI411A.html

Political scientist Dr. Lawrence Britt recently wrote an article about fascism ("Fascism Anyone?," Free Inquiry, Spring 2003, page 20).

Studying the fascist regimes of Hitler (Germany), Mussolini (Italy), Franco (Spain), Suharto (Indonesia), and Pinochet (Chile), Dr. Britt found they all had 14 elements in common. He calls these the identifying characteristics of fascism. The excerpt is in accordance with the magazine's policy.

The 14 characteristics are:

Powerful and Continuing Nationalism

Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottoes, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.

Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights

Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.

Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause

The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc.

Supremacy of the Military

Even when there are widespread domestic problems, the military is given a disproportionate amount of government funding, and the domestic agenda is neglected. Soldiers and military service are glamorized.

Rampant Sexism

The governments of fascist nations tend to be almost exclusively male-dominated. Under fascist regimes, traditional gender roles are made more rigid. Opposition to abortion is high, as is homophobia and anti-gay legislation and national policy.

Controlled Mass Media

Sometimes the media is directly controlled by the government, but in other cases, the media is indirectly controlled by government regulation, or sympathetic media spokespeople and executives. Censorship, especially in war time, is very common.

Obsession with National Security

Fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

Religion and Government are Intertwined

Governments in fascist nations tend to use the most common religion in the nation as a tool to manipulate public opinion. Religious rhetoric and terminology is common from government leaders, even when the major tenets of the religion are diametrically opposed to the government's policies or actions.

Corporate Power is Protected

The industrial and business aristocracy of a fascist nation often are the ones who put the government leaders into power, creating a mutually beneficial business/government relationship and power elite.

Labor Power is Suppressed

Because the organizing power of labor is the only real threat to a fascist government, labor unions are either eliminated entirely, or are severely suppressed .

Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts

Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts.

Obsession with Crime and Punishment

Under fascist regimes, the police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws. The people are often willing to overlook police abuses and even forego civil liberties in the name of patriotism. There is often a national police force with virtually unlimited power in fascist nations.

Rampant Cronyism and Corruption

Fascist regimes almost always are governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to government positions and use governmental power and authority to protect their friends from accountability. It is not uncommon in fascist regimes for national resources and even treasures to be appropriated or even outright stolen by government leaders.

Fraudulent Elections

Sometimes elections in fascist nations are a complete sham. Other times elections are manipulated by smear campaigns against or even assassination of opposition candidates, use of legislation to control voting numbers or political district boundaries, and manipulation of the media. Fascist nations also typically use their judiciaries to manipulate or control elections.

My thoughts exactly! They would rather have it illeagle and let the mexican mafia make bank off it than allow poor Americans to actually get themselves out of debt. Fucking ridiculous! Every time I think about it I just want to yell at the top of my lungs "IT IS A FUCKING PLANT YOU ASS HOLES!!"

I am a WWII buff. My grandfather was a drill sergeant in WWII and he gave me the Ryan trilogy (The Longest Day, A Bridge to Far, and The Last Battle) when I was like 10 or 11. After that I pretty much read all the "important" WWII books written by people who were actually there. There really is an indescribable amount to learn from those experiences. Then, I was such a war/international relations buff I designed tactical and strategic wargames for 15 years (and might do another one for the first time in a decade soon).

Anyway, I gave all this background because one of the things I learned in 30+ years of interest in these subjects is that the simple definition of fascism is the same exact simple definition of evil.... "those who believe themselves to be your masters".

It really doesn't take a professor and a full page article... "those who believe themselves to be your masters" is the true, root cause, of both evil and fascism.

Now, you Obama supporters try not to think too hard about this or your delusional fantasies about Americans might get shattered. "You'll give doctors their cut of your earnings for life or you'll be punished".

He believes himself to be your master... can you still remember how that sentance finishes? "Do as I command or you'll be punished"??? Like I said, you Obama supporters probably shouldn't think about this one for too long... your head might explode or something if your brainwashing were to be too suddenly undone.

Your post is a joke right? Sarcasm? LMFAO. The road to fascism in America started immediately following WW2 when Roosevelt died and all the freedoms he had planned for America in his "economic bill of rights" like Health Care for all, went to countries like France and Germany along with Roosevelt's planners doing the post war rebuilding. Europe got the American dream, Rich Americans became the masters of the universe, and non rich Americans got fucked in the ass and convinced it was in their best interest!

American Fascism=Nixon + LBJ - Carter + Reagan/Clinton X Bush(2)

Was FDR a FASCIST TOO???

UNLEARN what the conservative agenda has been spoon feeding American citizens for the last 70 years to keep the top 1% of the population in total control! It's all been a bunch of self destructive lies! Listen to this:

WTF are you talking about? Fascism began in america when the first continental bank was organized 2 years after the constitution was signed. It created a banking monopoly (cartel) enforced by the US govt. it worked so well we are now on our third reserve bank...........the bankers have been fucking us since inception with their debt based fiat system, by means of inflation. jefferson wrote extensively on the subject, not that anyone reads him anymore........:mad0233:

Rosenfeld was a piece of shit. He turned away boats full of jews fleeing germany in WWII. He allowed american banks to finance hitler, as an experiment in national socialism, until hitler got so out of hand he had to be put down. Roosy was a fabian socialist, eugenist, and supporter of marxism.

Step away from the rand (corporation) mcnally textbooks, theyve curdled your brain. You folk are trapped in the right/left paradigm. Its not right vs. left, its us against the state.

I agree. The "left" vs "right" BS has got to go. I see very little difference between them anymore and believe they both are more interested in the welfare of corporations and bankers rather than the average person.

I also agree w/ Bill that citizens of most Euro countries are far better off. I worked in Denmark recently and have relatives in Germany... their standard of living, especially at the lower end of wage-earners, is far better than here and there is far less unemployment. All this despite MUCH higher taxes in Europe vs the USA...

I'll just repeat... the simple definition of both fascism and evil is "those who believe themselves to be your masters".

Only one person in US history has ever attempted to issue a dictatorial command saying "do as I say or you will be punished". Everything else is noise and propaganda.

Commanding that everyone must pay a certain company (my equal, under the Constitution) a cut of their monthly earnings for life is a form of slavery called "indentured servitude". American citizens cannot be commanded into indentured servitude. Me and the insurance company are equals, you see. They don't own me, and are not entitled to "their cut" of my earnings for life. In fact, Americans fight civil wars over this very issue, it's why we have the 2nd Ammendment.

The "health care law" is actually a violation of the 4th Ammendment, the commerce clause has nothing to do with it. Government cannot sieze my property, it's right there in the 4th Ammendment. Commanding me to turn my property over to another citizen is siezing my property.

There is no chance of this "law" ever actually going into force. For one thing, Americans fight civil wars over this very issue. We are not slaves.

Portugal, Ireland, Greece, Spain. These countries are perfect (and current) examples of what happens when lower end wage earners are given a standard of living more comparable to higher wage earners'.

I do agree though that it seems these regulations in CO do not allow for the common man to make $$$ from it.
