First time growing, I want to learn how this plant grows. Any tips, tricks, or advice is welcome! Starting off with a clone of Purple Punch in 5 gal fabric pot with 420 recipe soil and some osmocote mixed in, 1 week outdoors and its going through some shock. Working out watering right now, leaves may be folding up because of heat and lack of water possibly. Was initially worried about drowning her out but I think I may have been to cautious. Going to try more water and moved under rose bushes for shade. What do you think? Thanks!

Put some wire around it stop the rabbits eating it for breakfast or some heavier animal walking on it

Right on, thanks for the tip! It’s in a fenced off area but I didn’t think about the little critters. We have tons of bunnies and such around the property so I should definitely get some wire around it.

Watered the hell out of it and it’s starting to stretch and rebound a bit, so getting better.

After moving into shade and increasing the amount I'm watering seems to be helping, check it out

another update! found a nice higher canopy tree shaded area for her final home, color looks much better and folding has subsided. I believe the heat and lack of water was the problem with growth starting to take over. On the lower portion of the plant a couple fan leaves are wilted, anyone have any thoughts on either pruning the plant or topping after dealing with heat stress and lack of water? I was thinking about giving her a week to recover and grow then topping but I'm concerned about the stress. My uneducated thought would be what doesn't kill you makes you stronger?

Well young weed hopper for one thing you started off in a small pot for a outdoor photoperiod. And yes she was getting heat stress if she was not acclimated to the weather. And sorry for the next one or two comments but it needs sun at least 8 hrs to grow big and healthy. Most of use seasoned outdoor growers use larger pots and full sun. I know your new to this but don't put it under any hedges or trees for long do to insects. I'm gonna quit talkin now everyone gotta learn the hard way to get better. Outdoors only the strong survive. Good luck keep posting.

Thanks for the advice! I will try to find another spot that gets some direct light and make a plan to repot into a bigger pot. Any other tips on pruning or topping is welcome! I think it’s getting a bit congested down low.

After you transplant cause it's kinda weak looking and you got time to prune in about a month. If you want to top it go ahead and do so it may help it bush out and not get too tall.

Lil update for everyone, went ahead and repotted into a 10 gal fabric pot with the same soil and nutrients as before. Didn't want to deal with small pot issues that could spring up. I have topped once and defoliated just a smidge on the lower branches, waiting a bit longer to go and really clean her up. threw some stakes in there to support the lower branches that really started to stretch outward, hoping to keep her within the cage i made but might need to lower the stand she's sitting on. Little over a month in outside starting from a clone and I feel like we're picking up!

Next year get a bigger pot or plant in the ground and keep reading all your buddies here on THCFarmer. Good job.
