Many types of LEDs varying in quality. Which light in particular you are looking at?

You best do some research...take some ppls advice on what they say and do your research for what fits you best...but I'm going to tell you that no box light alone is going to do what you want...your grow area will mostly determine what and how many you'll need...4×4 grow will require one big light..I mean in size..

That light is like 200 watts. Decent Leds will put out more of a white light, avoid blurple. Expect to spend at least $.90 per watt for a good light. I use HLG and Timber.

Youll want at least 1000 real watts for that space.

Switching to led will definitely cut down on the heat but if the price looks too good to be true it probably is.

Hlg 600.or bars or strips..look into those...IDK what led you get...it has to be almost the size of the grow area..

You do not need a 1000 real watts of LED for that space, even with CO2 a 600-700w top end LED light will adequately cover a 4x4 area. I can personally vouch for a Fluence Spydr 2p (645w) covering a 4x4 scrog adequately, a Spydr 2i would be another step up from there. There's similar lights from Gavita and others, even some of the Chinese knockoff bar lights have been shown to be reasonably efficient. The thing is that these are all $1000+ lights, but when you factor in the saved electricity, reduced AC/ventilation, not having to replace bulbs, and the longevity of the fixtures (at least with Fluence and other top brands), they are worth spending the money on if you know your going to be doing this for awhile.

As others have said HLG makes great lights at a decent price point. I'd say their shortcomings are that they don't quite get the spread of the bar style lights, are just a hair behind the top brands in efficiency and they may not be as durable as the top brands but they're still a great choice since the HLG 600 is $750 and a Fluence Spydr 2p is $1350.

You need 650-680 watts worth of real deal good LED's to do 1.5 x1.5 meters, it would take prolly at least 5 if not 6 of those lights you were looking at to do the area you want to do because those led's are garbage. You want white led's (Samsung Lm561c diodes, 3000k to 3500k) with added 660nm red diodes, passive cooling not fan cooled.. HLG, Chilled, Pacific Lighting Concepts DIY is the way to go for the best cost. If you wanna go full out you can get a spydrx mega for $1600, its about half that to do a good DIY that will be just as good

A 1.5x1.5 meters is just shy of 5x5 feet, not 4x4. I agree with what you said, that 600-700w is good for a 4x4, so if you scale that watt to sqft ratio up to 5x5 you have... what I recommended in the first place.

1.5x1.5 meters = 25 square feet
1000 watts / 25 square feet is 40 watts per square foot
600-700 watts / 25 square feet is 24-28 watts per square foot

For most of the grow plants will not be asking for full power from the lights but its nice to have it available when they eventually need it. Running the lights dimmed for most of the grow also reduces the heat output and increases the longevity of the electronics. From experience I can tell you there is a significant difference in quality and yield growing with 40-50 watts per/sqft vs less than 30.

I didn't do the math, I didn't know it was that close to 5x5. That makes life a little more difficult as I don't know of any single light solutions for that size, that's even an awkward space for a 1000w hps to fill. Probably best to go with one of the lights intended for 4x4 and add some side lighting or just limit the canopy to 4x4 (the latter would be my choice).

If you wanna go to LED road, and the growing area is 1.5x1.5m, it's 5'x5', you need at least 800w, which can replace the hps 1000w.

I'd like to recommend you the MarsHydro TSL2000x2, and 2xTS600 as supply lights at flower, total 800w
TSL2000, 300w, 684 diodes, coverage is 2'x4' at bloom, 3'x5' at veg
TS600, 100w, 225 diodes, coverage is 1.5'x1.5' at bloom, 2'x2' at veg

This 4‘x8’ set up for your reference, TSL2000X2+TS600X1, it's not enough, the dude plan to add some lights on the next growing

800 watts is still only 32 watts per sqft, it will not perform as well as 1000 watts hps or led.

I dunno I kill it with 30 watts of HLG Rspec LED's per ft2, any more without co2 would only hurt the plants, I have been growing on a medium scale since 1997, it's not my first rodeo. I can read plants & 30 watts with no co2 is the max I can run on my plants!

A few different buds from various plants I have going right now under 30 watts of HLG Rspec led's, the last 3 pics is same plant with 2 different views & a somewhat bud shot or branch shot & that strain doesn't even yield very well under 50 watts of HPS, nothing but bud under these Rspec boards at 30 watts per square foot & the plants can not take more light, the nutrients can barely keep up & I am at 105-110% nutrient strength at times because they get starved under my 30 watts per & at just 5.5 weeks BTW
