I hang my lights as high as possible in my tent. I start veg at 40% then increase when the leaves are praying right before lights outs.

Your leaves pray?

Makes sense, cannabis is a very spiritual plant.

I have a true 1000 watt LED light in a 4X4 tent. Just as a general guideline how high should that be above plants that are starting the veg stage and what percent of power should I use. Basically for the different stages throughout the veg and the flower cycle I was wondering approximately how high to hang it at about what power throughout these stages do I use. Example of early veg, mid-veg, late veg, early flower, midflower and late flower. I see other examples of how it's different throughout the stages of its growth cycle. I was just wondering about general ideas of how to approach it

Can you link me to your light please? If its a true 1000 watt LED, then operating it at 100% in a 4 x 4 would likely fry your plant. This doesn't mean you can't use your light. It simply means don't use it on maximum power. A 4' x 4' should be lit with between 30 and 40 watts per ft square. So 16 ft sw x 30 = 480. 16 x 40 = 640. To light your space you would only need between 480 and 640 watts to provide maximum growth. If you're running CO2 or think you might be in the future, you can increase that even more. Just don't attempt to run it at full power and normal light distance. You'll have to compromise. Most likely compromise is to dim it to the 480-640 range, no excess heat issues, and much longer equipment life. Those are actually some pretty pleasant compromises.

Anyway, lets see your new light.
