Light source swap - LED/HPS

So I didn't plan well and will have more plants than I can hold in my LED lit tent (3 X 300W).
I have a closet with a 400 Watt HPS too.
So my question is, can I safely swap my maturing autos to HPS without issue for the final 2-3 weeks?
And secondly, does it make more sense to start the new (2 week old) seedlings in the HPS closet instead of swapping the mature plants?

you will more likely have better results if you harden the plants off as you were to take them outside,but the combination of hid lighting mixed with led works alright too.
just to be on safe side i would,most ballast have a dimmer switch

thanks, so I should dial down the ballast even if I put the older plants (5 weeks) under the HPS? They're budding nicely and I don't want to set them back for the final push. I assume you mean for a couple days until they seem to be enjoying the new lighting?

put the new ones to the sides were you put the led lights and then over couple days move them closer to the hid light mate,im assuming you want to use the leds for a side lighting,they work well ,i would move my plants around each day to were all the plants got a mix.
it wont hurt over couple days to harden them off,you could just toss um under the light and see how they respond,they might not miss a lick
