You got some nice pictures there. Easy to see the trichomes. Try to get images of only the actual bud, not the leaves.

I see an updated image now of the bud. Trichomes are looking very clear still.

Can you provide images of the full bud site and full plant?

So far I would say you have 2-3 weeks left.

I'm right there with you. My plants are about to enter week 10 of flower this Sunday. Most mature plant I have still needs 1-2 weeks. Currently scheduled for harvest on 9/28, but may need to push it another week.

I've also been watering with plain water but I've been wondering if I should be flushing to prepare for harvest

That's when I harvest sometimes when low and I've had great results. Once you see a few Amber color guys I'd say your usually good to go, unless you see any foxtailing or fattening up. But ten weeks is about it I would say also especially if its not a full Sativa strain. You could wait for a few more ambers to show up but those are essentially over ripened trichomes, basically CBN I suppose. Most look good and cloudy. Hard to see much on that top bud site for ambers but they look cloudy enough I guess. Clear I believe is still good even, and I think I prefer to have those present as well for diverse medicinal purposes. Some or many wait until they see a 5-15% of amber color Trichomes as well, and some early.
I harvest buds off the plant really early in flower sometimes and I find I get just as strong but more energetic or fresh kind of effect.

Would you recommend flushing besides regular waterings?

No not if your using organic nutrients. Maybe do a good runoff with the next watering at most. Unless you think you got a lot in there. Always good to time out the last application at least two or more weeks before harvest. Do it a bit early and use a compost tea with like fish and kelp or something low nitrogen and higher potassium like Kelp is good to feed on the go if you need to in the end. Potassium is a good bud hardener, some go crazy with it mid flower or onwards to really fatten up the buds and density, but sometimes I find that's just strain dependent too

No. Flushing your plants won't accomplish anything.

I am concerned about water only this early on. Your plants have several weeks to go. You should still be feeding them up until the last week before you harvest.

Ok, carry-on. I thought they weren't getting anything. The feed is in the soil mix.

Those plants have a good bit to go I wouldn't even consider flushing I'd keep doing what you are.
Looking at trichomes isnt a great way to judge maturity.

Basic signs of maturity give you the real picture, new white pistils slow dramatically while the other pistils recede into the calyx swelling them, buds shouldn't look furry!

Ready to harvest ^^^ it's now trichs really start to colour not before ime.

Not ready for harvest ^^^ see lots of pistils being produced and not recededing into the calyxes.

Flushing?
I don't subscribe to flushing but after I deem them ready I give them water for 3/4 days then harvest.

If anyone's curious, I took the photos with a pixel pro 9 using a macro lense. I thought I'd have to buy a microscope or jewelers loop. Turns out my phone works fine.

I've been a bit guilty of harvesting my hybrids or sativa leaning hybrids early. Started growing mostly Indicas I realize are although photo periods, there are probably "fast buds" now as well... I also had a few surprise white widow auto seeds that just raced to finish outdoors by mid August or earlier. This Trudeau strain I've been growing seems to appear close to finish by week 6 or 7. Growing alongside Purple Chemdog and Super Lemon Haze has me harvesting still at 9 weeks since I use the tent to dry and reveg them in another or wherever. I will get a couple S1 out of Trudeau sometimes, and even the others still, and wondered if I was pushing them too hard late in flower, causing a couple small lumps of new growth and a white pistil in week 8 for Purple Chemdog. But I see I could have let my Purple Chemdog go much farther, usually having a few white pistils. The Trudeau and SLH just seem to get more snowy on top with darkening leaves under high light near the end, and stop fattening up the ice cream cones, versus the Purple Chemdogs completly different structure. It preformed much better outside structure wise still harvesting on time and filling out a really massive stretch, but it had no terps or resin... Indoors it seemed like much better terps, like a sticky hash plant, but smaller buds maybe from fighting it's height and scrog training, timing versus these fast indicas

Let me know what strain that is in the finished picture

That's a great example and beautiful strain. Thanks
