Looking for a good video/picture camera

To use on vacation and to photograph my weed garden.

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Video will be used on the beach, hiking in the mountains and everywhere else.

The videos are most important and if they have waterproof ones even better

You can go the gopro route if looking to take it on hiking and other adventures , since you want waterproof and such. Sure there are other cameras out there depending on price point your looking for.
