Your Mom is so lucky to have you to care for her. If she's on Medicare there are lots of resources to help, but you probably already know that. I was not aware hospice can help long before the end until my Mom started her decline.

Yes ... been doing on and off over the years since I was about 16, now it a 24/7 full time job. Wears on me , but luckily her insurance is good. Thank the Lord ! Fam has been on Medicare Tricare for eons. I grew up on Champus , dad was 100% medically retired by VA before I was born. 1974 . So it's a godsend she has good coverage at least . I have home healthcare 3 times a week . Which helps ALot .

Pulling them ...

Storm day before yesterday took out the bottom 2nd biggest branch of the PGC, even though she was half under porch. So I hung it just to see , as I haven't tried that one yet. She is way early.

Humidity is awful , so they getting pulled individually and washed. Trimming up the majority in the pots , wash Cleaned them up ALot nicely . Tried a test run of the wash on my samples ...

Doing the 5 gallon to 1/2 cup peroxide method ....3 buckets ... Wash rinse rinse .
Since i treated them a few times for pests ... Just rinsing makes me feel better

...it's supposed to come down like a Hurricaine today and thru Tuesday . So it's just easier to save them now. Will be super busy next week won't have time .. worried about them being wet in 80 percent humidity.

They definitely are underripe in spots , but my samples I tried were adequate.

We went through this with my wife's mom. Brought her home to live with us and after she suffered a stroke we shut down our plumbing business to care for her. It was the hardest and yet most rewarding time in our lives. Losing her was very difficult but being there for her was something we felt we had to do

Steady working on it all. Rained hard this morning ...

PGC Got a half ounce so far out of what broke so that's fun !

Had to make hang room so they got cut off the stalks ...

Technically that covered the cost of my dirt this year $$$

Yeah some got me ... Afraid to say ....Got busy with life , left half the plant . Just didn't have time ... Lost a few .
Last year was definitely beginners luck . This year was way to much to fast even though I reduced to half . Got better quality . Weather ...."mother nature" was definitely more challenging this year at the end.

Got some bags ... Really nice , makes the job easier . However I need more than the 5 I have. Leaving them half to 3/4 full for a bit . Just to be safe . Baffles me that they work ! When I pulled the first batch down they snapped well , was worried they was too dry. Placed in the bag , then stored them in the wine cooler at 60... And viola ! All the smell of the goody goody goodness came right back Highly recommend them!.

Got some 58% boveda packs too, instead of the 62% ones cause it's more humid here naturally, haven't tried them yet.... But have them just In case . For when I want to take some out of the cure bags . So I'm not opening them so much.
