So I want to be able to grow weed for a living. I’m currently in college for a biology degree and have been growing on the side. I’m trying to learn everything I possibly can. I’m wondering if anyone has any ideas or knowledge on how I can make money (legally of course) from growing. Honestly if I can make enough to live I’ll be happy. My only goal is to enjoy what I do. I know my first step is to move to a legal state but then where do I go from there? Any help or advice or steps to take would be really nice. I’m getting my biology degree regardless of growing that way I can still find something i enjoy if growing doesn’t work out.

while i'm not an expert on the whole cannabis sale thing these days i would think 1st thing would be to check the cannabis laws in any state you might choose to live and see what you can do and what the requirements are for commercial licenses. i imagine you would only be able to sell cannabis legally if you had a commercial license to some degree. i have looked over a couple states myself and they vary widely with some states being more friendly to smaller growers than other states as far as cost for license and what your allowed to do.

you might be wise to look at what is available in the places you might consider living in as if there is too much there the likelyhood of actually making money at all could be tough. unless you find a nitch that isn't being met.

Yessir they are all different and in most states where you got the license is where you have to grow. The license won’t transfer to another state bc laws vary. I appreciate you comment brother it’s def something I’m gonna do. Also gonna see if I can’t call a few grow operations and ask for a manager and ask them if they have any advice.

CBD sauve made from hemp. If you're in a legal state you can add THC. My wife's doctor recommended 3-1 THC and we agree although CBD alone is good. I've been working in this a couple years now but it's still just a dream.

sounds like a good idea. you might also consider working in the cannabis field for others and might find that financially beneficial. perhaps a springboard to doing your own thing later on.

I’d totally be on board with that I could start trimming and work my way up or whatever it may be.

Learn hard core organics and grow 'Craft' herb. A lot of people will pay a premium for good organic weed. That is my end goal...become the 'craft beer' of herb.

Here in my state, it's difficult and costly to get a commercial growing license. I have a medical license and that's plenty annoying, and I have to pay to renew it every year. The cost and legal complexity for growing is why so many grow for their own use or for unlicensed sales. Wife and I were just talking about how boutique growing and selling would be wonderful.

Any possibility of being a caretaker for awhile? Maybe know a few with licences that you can grow for? Charge a fee etc, for patients, a lot of people can get a license but can barely function let alone deal with handling a full grow just because they have the license for them.

could be a very good move. seems that from my experience sampling many strains from many dispenseries this could end up being like the field of craft brewers out there. seems like their are plenty of customers for them. could be there would be ample customers for a craft cannabis field as well.... : )( : : )( :

i'd like to see a dispensary that focuses on persistantly cultivating the same heirloom, really old school strains. mauie wowee, acapulco gold, columbian gold, panama red ..... etc. ad infinitum. many of these strains i've never had the pleasure to try except for 1..... i got some mauie wowee in a washington state disp. turned out it tasted the exact way a strain i grew 30 years ago tasted. grew seed from the usual dirt weed, comerc. mex and such at the time. grew some outrages sh+t out of those seeds. a mind blowing experience..... : D

no seeds here I'm fortunate enough to be blessed with the winners otherwise how do you know the seed just because someone says so there is so much that has been watered down hell there's 5 new seed companies daily... I've been only growing a year and a half and keep it simple

Clones just mean no new varieties…. Not to say it’s bad but seeds aren’t the incorrect way to go. To each their own. I too take in what I can. Except what I’ve learned in my biology studies puts me a step ahead of the game. Not to say there isn’t information on the internet but when you start to really understand the science of your soil and plant and how energy is really created and used you start to look differently at your grows. I’ve barley just scratched the surface but I’m willing to take the extra steps to know more than the average grower does. I’m on my third grow but I’ve been growing plants for years. I’ve always wanted to work outside or with nature in some shape or form. Cannabis cultivation is at the top of my list but not my only option. Slowing down is not an option. We only live once and time moves fast. I don’t want to work when I’m 60.
