Looks male to me, but what do you say, so far?

It’s a male 😀 just what you need for you seed company . Od .

SWEET, that means I probably successfully have transferred some genetics of this photoperiod "Bubba Kush" effectively into this much smaller genetic auto-flowering line. (an afgan hybrid) I've got about 20 specimens, and there pretty uniform, except for a few features I can see in some of them.

This could be a breakthough, and a big increase in potency, I suspect, as the bubba was a phenomenonal potent and large strain, heavy producer.

Actually, It seems to have come though on a few of the different strains I've done this too so far, but only growing out the seed will tell for sure.

Anyone else? Please speak up everyone. I want observations please.

OD's gotcha bro :) A hermie will have pistels coming out. And then you'll have nuts popping out. When it's happened to me it's because of light cycle stress. Like 12 - 8 - 14 - 7 - 9 on. Kind of freaks out the plant and makes it go into reproduce now mode. I talked to an old timer like he's been growing since 3 years before I was born and I'm old, earlier this week. He said he's found if you want to push males and hermie to just give them 11 hours or less of light from day 1. Makes the plant think it's the end of the season. Cool theory. Will have to try it out.

PS. You have a boy.

This is simply fucking awesome. I've actually produced a male, from two genetically different FEMALES.

UNBELIEVABLY COOL.

It looks like to me that there's 2 of them, out of 22 plants.
Also, the one I turned male was a photoperiod, (the Bubba Kush) and both came out as auto-flowering males.

I'd check my light meter first and then chalk the rest of to the law of averages :D I'm currently praying for a male from a new strain (for me) I'm growing. Sucker for the purples and blacks.

Yea, this might have just been an accident, and a law of averages on a few of those autos that I had that were outlayers, possibly there was some over-spray during my pollination ritual, or perhaps some other factor that's not apparent at the moment, (ie. one of the autos turned male, or was male and pollinated) I think that's less likely actually. I'm going to grow everything out and inspect the morphology well. I think I'll bring the males outside, and/or use them for back-crossing if all looks good.

Having at least one strain of auto's that have an equal amount of male populations would be nice to have for future breeding. As long as everything looks legit.

averages on the light are like 8500-9000 umol/m2s if I'm looking at it right. This is a good light, I've got it about 2 foot off the plants right now. It's a big 15 lb light, with massive bright output, 700 W draw. Although, I could hang a few more, if they could benefit from it. I would rather do that during the flower though.

It happens :) I'm still stuck in mixed bulb T-5 HO Flouros hahahahahaha :D Actually I'm rebuilding my grow. Had a couple of Sunblaze units on hand. Brought them online. Just bought another. Outside during the day. Inside when the sun sets. Bloom goes to a dark space. Veg goes to the bulbs. Everyone says 18/6. I'm 24/7 veg. Not saying it's better faster more bodacious. It's just the way I've been doing it forever. Works for me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. :D

Yea, I've tried 24 hrs, and 18/6, even 20/4 and I see little difference. I do think shutting down during the hottest times of the day, if you have them, helps. If it's cool, 24 veg....
If your getting over say 80 degrees, especially anything above 82 degrees for sure, because that's really getting close to your max zone. Then heat becomes a limiting factor, and sun wouldn't matter no way...

So in those cases, I back off the lights during the hottest periods.

80 or 82 degreeS is the max zone? Where did you pull that info from? So misleading..

What’s max zone anyway?

I'm with BurnzYzBudZz on this one bro. Sometimes you just gotta step back. We've taken 110F heat indexes this summer so far and my plants are out in it. Well watered and drinking a lot. But no worse for the wear. I've got to be straight with you. Because like... I guess I'm just that guy. But here's the deal. You're talking to growers who have been in it for a long long time. me 20ish years or so. Dabbie runs more beans than a fucking bean farm. One Drop is a technical grower. Burnz is solid. Go read their stuff. I mean the list is long... Beach, Aqua, MiMed there are A LOT of good freaking growers out here. I don't think everyone knows everything. But everything is known collectively by everyone here.

And we know what a new grower looks like. It's ok to be a new grower. It's ok to get bit by the bug. It happened to all of us at one time or the other and we've still got it or we wouldn't grow. You? That bug has got you in the nuts. You've got plants every freaking where with tons of issues. Lots and tons and many and loads. The stuff you talk about? It's all book shit. Blog shit. You read it therefore it must be true.

Eg. I flashed your nut pic to my wife. Instant - who's got the male? Not us right? She didn't need a second opinion. No one here does. We've all got the male. Killed it. Gathered the pollen. Cut the fucker down and shaken it over plants like a voodoo priest eating lsd.

Just level out. You're new. You need help. The shit you're reading doesn't make sense when stacked against the results. And we'll carry on from there. If not, cool. But whatever. I grow weary of the charade.

I would say 75 degrees f or 23 C, the lower the better, IMO

I'm not suggesting plants won't do better outside in the heat, but inside I think it's a bit different, because the roots tend to stay a whole lot cooler.

I'm not saying you've not got a lot of knowlege bro, but your certainly not working under similar conditions than me either. Growing indoors, I've had problems in the past with root temps, and it's a valid problem that needs to be addressed, and heat has a lot to do with it.

There a HUGE DIFFERENCE between a plant in 90 degree heat in the sun, and one sitting in a grow room.
For 1, the outside plant gets to cool down during the nighttime, wheras the grow room plant might not, especially if it's subject to 24/7 light.
