Marijuana Sex Link Discovered
Researchers at UC Berkeley's Horticultural Anthropology department have uncovered a link between marijuana and sex with the discovery of THC-p, a pheremone produced in humans after consumption of the precursor THC or THCA. The THC-p molecule has an attractor effect in humans with pilot studies showing significantly increased levels of reported sexual arousal in subjects consuming THC-p via a pill. The study was double blind, with placebo cases supporting the findings.
Dr. Fritz Hammer of UC Berkeley said "This is a significant finding, given that we are unearthing all new uses for extracts from the marijuana plant all the time. What makes this particularly interesting is that this could provide Viagra-like effects in both males and females, and from a completely natural source. We are still not sure of the levels needed to sustain this response, but further research is being conducted. We hope to go into stage 1 clinical trials in 2010".
So it may seem that the rose coloured glasses are in fact green with the exciting discovery of the benefits of THC-p. With the popularity of Viagra, Cialis and a number of other male orientated pharmalogical product out there, the success of a THC-p driven product for both sexes has incredible potential.
