Hi everyone. Long time lurker who finally made an account to ask what I hope is a basic question. Recently purchased 2-in-1 90x60x140cm Multi-Chamber Reflective Grow Tent for Indoor Hydroponic Growing System - Mars Hydro and was wondering if someone can help me figure out what size exhaust fan I should buy and if I should purchase any intake fans as well.

On Alibaba the product description lists multiple sizes but the mars hydro website doesn't list anything afaik. I was hoping I could come to the pros to recommend something for my first tent grow. The vent Size listed on the Alibaba product description is 2 pcs 3", 2pcs 8", 4pcs 10". That's a lot of holes for a little tent. That cant be right, can it? I've asked Mars Hydro directly but am waiting on a response.

I would get an AC Infinity T4, it's would be a really good one for that size tent and it has temperature and humidity controller function.

+1 for the AC Infinity recommendation but look at the S model fan with the 67 controller over the T series controller. I feel it gives you better control for constant low fan speed. I put a 6" booster fan in bottom for intake, but I got the 2 in 1 model size larger than the one you got, you may be fine with 4" one.

Good call, I had forgotten about the 67 controller, that would be a better combination, I must try and get one for my S6 fan myself

*edit a few minutes later*
I just bought a Controller 67 on Amazon for 64 Euro delivered, they're on back order until 12th March on AC Infinity own website unfortunately.

Thank you both. I had my eye on the Infinity Cloudline S6 for the exhaust because I hear it's both quiet and moves a good chunk of air. I've also been eyeing the 8" now for future builds. If I went with the 6", will it fit or will I need an adapter?

I don't want too hung up on the details and just enjoy the grow but I've come so far and spent so much. May as well dial in these finer details now.

Cool to see someone else has the 2 in 1! How do you like yours?

I have the AC Infinity S6 with a Phresh Carbon Filter in my 2x4x6ft (60x120x180cm) and I rarely need to run it higher than setting 2 of 8.
The controller 67 should be plug and play, well I bloody hope as I just bought it :-)

As far as it fitting...I am not sure in your situation. I just got mine in this week and just assembled it last nite. My plan is the carbon filter top of the large area w/ hose out top hole to fan on top of tent. 6'' booster fan in bottom for intake. On the smaller side with the shelf I plan to put a 4" booster in bottom, not use the tray piece and just keep the metal shelf in place and another 4" booster fan exhausting out top. That should circulate air thru the tent with a small clip fan in the areas to keep plants dancing.
This is where I am going to start anyways. I am planning on modifying this as needed. I am sure it will be needed...

It does. Same connects as T series. 2 fan capability, programs the same.

I like the way you guys think. I'm gonna hop on the S6 with the controller then. Not sure how I want to configure the inside yet. I'll do some experimentation :D

Thank you both! Time to shop for small quiet clip fans.

Got it all put together finally. This tent feels pretty sturdy. It also does a great job at blocking the light! I used 6" tubing with the s6 fan inside and the carbon filter off at the moment. Is the carbon filter better inside the tent or outside the tent? I saw someone have theirs at the end of the line outside the tent but wasn't sure if that was the ideal placement. Figured I'd hit up the gurus first!

Did you get the Controller 67 as well?
I just got it two days ago as an upgrade to my S6 fan and I'm mighty impressed with it, phone app is super cool as well.

The controller is running late but on the way! As is a high quality surge protector to keep it all powered cleanly. Our electricity here has been spotty. My cactus is loving the light. Can’t wait to see how my lettuce, herbs, and other greens grow in this beast. Just started the seeds!

I have my filter inside of tent at top, in a corner, with ducting running out of tent to my fan, that is mounted on a wall, then exhausted out of room from there.

Filter inside tent, Charcoal filter pulls air, cleaning it then to exhaust out of tent. Intake fan at bottom of tent, pulling fresh air into tent. Neg. pressure is key. Other growers will elaborate more.

...I saw a chart with 4 possible options. All depends on what you are after...venting outside lung room is best I have always heard. Some situations it cannot be done and just vents outside the tent. Are you in a stealth situation? Can you vent all the way outside? Cannot get to outside? all determines your best option for your situation. I am in a spare bedroom and will be venting to outside. Filter and fan INSIDE the tent, duct out top and over to window. I have seen the filter at the end of the duct just outside the tent and is cool if you have the air exchange to do it that way. Space, noise, stealth all options to consider for your unique situation. But whatever you decide, its gonna look cool. These tents ROCK....I cannot wait to get mine rigged out and operational and I want to see how you get yours set up!

I’ll be venting to the bedroom. Not stealth but stealth ready. I hope to calibrate my indoor growing with regular vegetables and small trees until better weather/skill increases. Plus, the fan and filter take up a ton of space and my tent isn’t quite 5ft tall.

Loving the pic! Thanks for sharing. Yours is so much taller than mine. Looks a lot easier to work inside of. I’ll see about taking a pic here soon to show you my setup
