WTF? It has been cool the last few days with more of the same for the next week. Maybe even a few morning showers off and on. I woke up with an other stiff neck and a cold! My son is coming up to help me for a few days end of this week and the homeless Afghan vet kid is also wanting some beer money for work in the next few days. Haven`t heard from hippie chick. I paid her in hash when she worked last time and I guess she`s not out yet. I`m working on re-potting today before the seedlings get root bound. May hammer a little and get water again.

Well my son showed up and did what he could with his bad back but no other help. He`s going to rest up and come back again soon. We got almost half the frames stained. I`ll keep plugging along I until it gets done anyway. Pictures at the end of the month?

Dam I only learned it was going to rain just before bed and had to rain proof my camp area late into the night. I only have 1/6 of the rows to wire up and have stained about half of the frames. I can`t do any more work until it gets dried up again. I`m trying to rush out the hard work before any hot weather comes along. Well my plants will love the weather anyway! If it does get hot I`ll have to get up early in the morning and do the hard stuff then!!! I`m not a morning person.

I`m not sure my raised bed rows with screen of green will increase the yield over bush grows like it does for indoor but it will allow growing where wholes are not possible and make harvesting much less labor intense. Adding tenting will also help the fight against bud rot. It takes a lot more money and effort than digging a whole or putting out some smart pots but it should last a while. What is everyone else`s take on this? I`ve constructed the beds modular so they can be moved and if this idea works as well as I hope it could be applied to greenhouse usage as well.

I just finished wiring in all the frames. Tomorrow going to town and will be getting back in time for my son who will be coming in the afternoon to do more staining on the frames. We won`t be able to get that all done but will knock out as much as possible. When the staining does get done it will be time to line the inside of the frames with landscape fabric before putting soil in. Then on to working on the water system. Never going to be all done as there is always more to do,or it seems like it anyway!

Well my son just left. We got most of the staining done, maybe an other day`s work on it left to do. I really should have stained the frames before putting the support wire on. I just want my beds done enough to start filling them with soil. I`m sure I`ll have to repot all my plants a few more times before I`ll have to have them done but I have so many other things to be working on around here! Really liked the help as well as the company.

I`m putting off most work today and tomorrow for a quick trip down to Southern Cali. I got some papers to sign for my Grandfather`s estate. I guess he left me his safe and some hunting and fishing stuff as well as an old limo ,the rest I don`t want. It has been tied up in Mexico for years. I`m just going to put it all back into storage and take off for now. May be some old Coke and IBM stocks in the safe though. He worked for both Companies in the 50`s and 60`s. Took his retirements in stocks that have never been found. Attorney said I was to be there to pick up the safe and he stated only I had permission to have it opened. Because of his former work with the Government's of the US and Mexico I have to have ass holes there when it is opened so I won`t have time this trip to open it.

Well you just never know what you may find in it, but it might go a long way in helping you get things rolling quicker. Have a safe trip down south !!

Trip got canceled. Storage was broken into. Stuff gone except the stripped car ! This sucks! I think my parents have the stocks somewhere along with the ones my Grandfather bought for me every birthday until he passed away. There just holding on to them and won`t let me have them until ? Hell much of them are over 50 years old so they aren`t worth much anyway. I may go to central Cali to pick up an RV fridge. Mine just keeps breaking down and ice is hard to get up here.

How does a storage location get broken into. Those things are pretty secure. As for the beds.Maybe till the dirt and add some compost and guano.Looks to be 2 feet deep.Dirt looks really compacted.Hand watered or gonna drip feed ?1k tank good enough to keep those beds well watered?

I don`t check my mail very often so the letter was a week late. As I understand the storage area was just inside Mexico and everything was going to be brought over when I got to the Attorney's office.

The beds are about 4`x 8` and in 40` rows. they are 20`` high. what your seeing in the pictures is old composted manure, I haven`t got the soil yet. I may have it delivered. I`ll need about 54 yards of soil. I still have the 325 gal tank and a 275 gal tote. going to hook up a 12 volt pump and hose to the tanks for pressure this year and use soaker hose maybe. Yes I could always use more water storage but it`s better than last year. I didn`t get enough $ this year for a water truck so I`m ordering a larger truck bed tank to fetch water with instead. If need be I could always have water delivered but it`s expensive. I also have running water closer this year as it`s plumbed half way up the road with pvc pipe from the creek.

Oh I was going to break up the composted manure and what soil I already have and but it in the bottom of the beds along with some amendments. I still need to finish a few beds with stain ,line them with soil fabric and then fill them with what stuff I got before I have enough room to get the soil. Won`t be putting up the screens for the scrog grow until the plants are in and established well. before planting I need to work on the water tanks anyway. last will be the hoops for the tunnel covers in Fall. I also need to work on the dry shed that never got finished right last year. Also the security(barb wire and cans) and move Brut and his doghouse to the garden area. May add some other security features such as driveway alerts with the receivers in the trailer and/or a few solar flood lights with motion sensors. I don`t think I`ll run any 12 ga. trip wire alarms outside the wire this year but maybe? I`m worried the 12 ga.trip alarms could cause a fire in the brush. Got to get some work done so maybe back online tonight?

OMG just exhausted! Just got home about 8 hours 1 1/2 tanks of gas and I`m not going to unload the fridge tonight! I-5 sure is a mess around Stockton, felt like a washboard! To be fair there working on that area of the freeway.
