I am a cannabis lover and meditation lover - and those two were used to go separately, until I started reading more about the ways and benefits of combining cannabis and meditation.
That's really awesome how knowing some steps of combining those two together will ensure the well-being.
Plus, both meditation and marijuana have so many benefits separately, that I imagine how useful they will be if they are combined. So, I am starting with finding a calm place and doing this experience. Hope, it will all go good.

Just the smells of fresh or smoked cannabis will bring me into a meditive mood. It's definitely something to make time for, just like meditating. A lot of time. Throughout the day and night.

Great topic, and something I’ve mulled over (and tried) many times. As I practice basic samatha meditations mostly, I find cannabis to be distracting in meditation. It’s hard enough to catch myself thinking, and “let it go” when sober, so being high just makes it harder. Usually I’ll wait until after a meditation before I burn one.

On the other hand, if you aren’t practicing a specific technique, and just want to journey within, I’ve found it to be fun. I’ve had some pretty awesome meditation + cannabis sessions outdoors. Especially with the sounds of birds and insects. Seems to amplify those sounds and associated internal imagery for me! But again, in the end, sobriety in meditation works best for me.

I’m sure it differs for everyone though!

Personally, being in my garden is very zen like. I've always found hanging out with my plants can be extremely calming. Tending to the plants helps melt the daily stress away. Typically with a good buzz on of course. Lol.

It depends on what meditation you practice. Single pointed concentration is almost impossible when stoned.

Been meditating for couple years now, high and sober. I find my mind is so much easier to quiet when stoned. Been in some deep sometimes tripy states while high. One great technique are those of kriya yoga. It' nothing like the yoga people think of in the western world, that' just a bastarized version of the true teachings. Check out j c Stevens book kriya yoga secrets revealed. Awesome book to make prgress with meditation quicker then teaching yourself.

I agree with you. When I was learning the skills of meditation, I found indicas to be better suited. Sativas or hybrids that were very cerebral tend to muddle my mind with racing random thoughts and don't lend to the calming effect I am looking for when wanting to be in a meditative state. So for meditation I would recommend indicas for the win.....

I found personally some of my better sessions with meditation were experienced outdoors. I had a fav spot in wa state along the river and as you stated the sound of the natural surroundings really allowed me to clear my head and get into a deeper state. Cant beat nature and the outdoors as a partner in meditation.

I think some of these guys think smoking weed is meditating or a meditating state :) it’s not. Meditating requires lots of practice with focusing training. I’ve never mastered it but I also have not tried going %100 with it for a period of time. Marijuana would really only slow the process down, it’s more fun that way but your not going to master it being high.
Now after the art is mastered i can see Mj as icing on the top.

I concur :-) weed puts you in an analitical state of mind so not to bad for that. Staying on subject is difficult though. I find the Buddhist approach to meditation is the only one that makes any sense. Unforunately you cant smoke weed and practice Buddhism. You have to make vow of no intoxocants.

I have used dmt. However as an old acid head from the 60-70's I found it to be too aggressive. I liked the slow climb to peaking found in 250 mcg doses of lsd, Nowadays all I play with is shrooms or peyote. Have some hookups on the rez that can source peyote.

The lsd from back in the day was very intense, especially Owsley and the typical windowpane, orange barrel sunshine, purple haze, white lightening and the liquid we used to drop in our eyes. But the climb was slow and allowed you to adjust to the intensity of the final "peak" period. DMT comes on like gangbusters right out of the gate. Wasn't my cup of tea. :D And having a "guide" in those days due to the purity and strength of acid was very advisable until you got a few journeys under your belt. Then of course you had to know your source to limit any added adulterants or cuts. In those days we were sourcing our supplies out of Beserkly and the haight and it was the real deal with no cuts.:smoking:

Basic end goal to almost all meditation is harmony and peace of mind, and to master meditation is to sustain this harmony and peace constantly.
