Both Chemdog SKVA x Bag of Oranges harvested last week were extremely chem leaning. One sativa structure leaning and one toward indica. Both dense, very resinous and sticky and potency quite high.

If i can learn to get more than a couple ounces out of them they would be top notch plants.

Finally got an answer to an email i re sent to pro mix (premier horticulture).

I asked why there is a 1.0 ec to the fresh bale if there is no fertilizer charge in american bales like it says on the bag ingredients and website. Well the nutrients are not included on the bale ingredients.

My name is removed it was the first word. ;

the American and Canadian made PRO-MIX products are the same, so the fertilizer charge is also the same. The EC in the product is coming mostly from the starter fertilizer added. The starter fertilizer is not mentioned on the packaging due to the state government regulations about reporting the presence of fertilizer in our products. Many states do not want fertilizer listed on the label unless it is a high percentage of the product. To compensate, we recommend beginning fertilization 7 days after transplanting as there is starter fertilizer to help the plants with initial establishment and growth.

We do recommend fertilizing one week after transplanting as the starter fertilizer MAY BE used up, especially if it is older product. If the fertilizer is used up, then plants can become chlorotic from nutrient deficiencies until the plants are fertilized. Again we do not recommend delaying fertilization but young plants do not need as much fertilizer as mature plants, so you could get by with delaying your first fertilization beyond 7 days. Thanks

So the white commercial bales are the same as canada and here despite the lies on the website and bag.

Now we are getting somewhere.

Here is an Aroma x Blue Lemon Thai getting nice and huge in the promix, foliage pro and protekt.

And ph down but i am considering eliminating it as long as my mix stays under 7 ph. I might have to use less silica.

I keep forgetting to mention and they are almost 2 months old now.

I am running 2 new Ushio HPS 600’s instead of my usual Hortilux Super HPS 600’s.

The corona virus seems to have increased the prices of Hortilux bulbs substantially and i cant get hold of plantlightinghydroponics where they were cheapest.

The Ushios were $55 each on Amazon. Seem to work well. To my eye they have a bit more red and less blue than hortilux. So far the weed harvested has been great but maybe a bit more yellowing than with horties. Likely due to more red leaning spectrum.

Some plants in flower...

Blue Lemon Thai from seed. She was one of the deficient sick then recovered plants. (We still think the pure blend pro went bad). Lost all the lower leaves but the upper half is making some big buds. Thick musky fruity smell when disturbed. Really strong smell to her.

OG Kush x Trainwreck clone. Super frosty and maybe lemony trainwreck buds. Also got hit hard by the nute stress. This is great stuff but she is a pain in the ass and always wants 2 spaces in the flower room. So this is her last run.

Citral x Pow 33 from the last seed from a seed pack. This one makes me want to take a cutting real bad but i will likely grow seed plants to use up aging stash. Or maybe ...

Closer in pic of BLT

Closer in pic of Og Kush x Trainwreck

Still experimenting with ratios and strength of the dyna grow foliage pro and protect. I think with my moderately hard well water the silica at 2.5ml gets to be a bit much after a while. My ph isnt rising but the calcium buildup plus silica may be stressing the roots. I need to read about silica interactions. I guess another research rabbit hole is imminent. ;-)

And 5 ml of foliage pro is a bit low for peak flowerers at my full size so i have been trying 6ml and 1 ml foliage pro which is 1.4 ec and 6.7 ph. I did not add ph down with it and i have been reducing the ph down by .25ml anyway to counter ph drop over time. I just may not need to acidify with this nute system either.

After reading this post I went to Amazon to check the price on a 1000w hps on replacing my Eye Hortilux and Wow its gone up $50 in a year. Last year $79 this year $127 + taxes or I can get 2 Vivosun 1000w for $67 + tx hmmmm is the Eye Hortilux that much better? I'll have to go with the Vivosun, I can't justify the cost increase in my grow budget.

Im going to recommend the ushio. Maybe more red than hortilux but still more blue than standard hps and the growth has been real good.

I paid $55 each.

I used plantmax @PipeCarver once and one out of 2 bulbs failed soon after install. I have avoided cheap rebranded bulbs ever since.

If i have to use them i would buy extras.

I've been buying vivosun for 4 years never a problem; one time I tried a cheaper brand it arrived more used than the bulb I took out! I think it might have been a plantmax but I'm not sure

Vivosun has lots of products out there and I don't like buying noname brands that have few products for something I need to count on working. I'll have 9 months on the hortilux at the end of this month but I don't plan on flowering again until Sept. So I don't need it yet but if prices are going up that fast maybe its time I bite on the 2 Vivosun bulbs now while they're still afordable.

Yes indeed, I find it amusing to read American prices then convert to Canadian and re-post Shock is the normal response, How can we afford top live up here paying $30+ for a dozen beer? A cheap $29 dollar US price comes to almost $60 once our 15% tax is added on top ( in Nova Scotia)

Lol look at this. I'm trying to get these here. Same but in US is the second link. And they don't ship to Canada.

AgroMax T5 UV Bulb | Shop 4 Foot T5 UV Bulb for Plants by AgroMax | HTG Supply

Now AgroMax Pure UV Bulbs come in a 2 foot version and are specially designed to produce UV light for plants growing indoors under HPS grow light systems.

There are always blown out price listings showing up on amazon here too. They hope you will click and pay. The company in that one is called Northern Shipments. Doesnt soind like a bulb company much. More like an offshore account fake company. Lol.

I added about 10% more small perlite (like is in the promix) and it seems to have helped.

Now if i can figure out how to use this new stuff through flower as happy i will be thrilled.

Heres a Headband from a selfed seed (read hermie lol) that i have let get deficient and over fed so far. She also did not like my LST and kept her dominant top.

What can ya do? ;-)

And here is the Chocolate Diesel reveg clone just starting to ripen. Im still figuring out foliage pro dose. Its a lot atronger than the pure blend pro. I havent needed more than 6ml at 1.3ec with my well water.
