Sadly, imo, most of the 40 different votes on medical marijuana centers, et al. which took place yesterday failed (resulted in a ban).

Most of the margins are considered landslides....

El Paso County PASSED mmc's by a victory margin of around 300 votes.....

The reason why I am really disappointed is that now patients ARE going to be missing out on a lot of mmj options that are really effective..... topicals, oils, tinctures, edibles....

Caregivers just can't provide these like the MMC's since they are greatly limited in the # of plants they can grow....

This is only the beginning. Between the DOR and market effects, I bet only 25%~30% make it out of this alive.

Which I don't have a problem with. They dug their one grave.

I saw on 9news that stateparks will be cut next year due to 'budget shortfalls'.

I like political dog's take on the subject:

What does this have to do with the thread's topic? Or even MMJ? You're literally a day late to be talking politics.......... it's over. Hopefully we don't have to hear this crap anymore!

Why can't I get a simple answer to why prop 19 should not have passed? Because there is not a good one. Fuck you and California.

No, no, no...

People, on here, who have actually read the prop don't like it in general. Sounds decent on the cover, right? But like any other shit we vote on there are plenty of hidden agendas going on.

Gov't run weed will be just as shitty as everything else they run. Keep it medical

Kak- I'll give you your simple answer in the form of a question. If there was a measure on the ballot that, if passed, would put you out of business and/or threaten the lifestyle you had become accustomed to, how would you vote on it?

Just read the filthy thing

The answer is simply because growers would be cut out of the loop.

Prop 19

Yeah to bad Prop 19 did not pass - I would really lay the blame for that at the Tossed SALad (Stoners Against Legalization) crowd. And that has got to leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth (pun intended)

Kakalak, you are completely, purely and 100% incorrigible. You ask questions that you don't bother reading the answers to. Your arguments are specious, at the very least, and quite highly insulting to many of us.

Change what's happening in YOUR state, leave the rest of us the hell alone. This is about COLORADO, not CALIFORNIA. I realize that both states begin with the letter "C", but this place here is *not* Sesame Street.

Dude, WHAT are you smoking? You know this is the Colorado forum, right?

***Edit*** Apparently not. How do you propose that people in Colorado get a California proposition passed?

Back to the mess we have here in COLORADO...

It was a tough vote for me locally. It was a toss up here between nixxing the dispensaries altogether or allowing commercial MMJ/"Centers"/grows/etc >according to the regulation set forth by the County Commisioners<.

It's no secret I'm not a fan of the "Centers". Prices will never go down under this model and once they all were forced to lie in bed with the DOR/State...any hint of support i once felt went bye-bye on the spot. When you take my rights away it just isn't gonna fly and you aren't gonna get my vote in the future.

But the BIG reason I voted to BAN them is because I KNOW how my county is...and by allowing the Centers we are also opening up the door for regulation not only towards the Centers...but also against CAREGIVERS. They have already made it very clear that they don't want residential grows and have a peice of legislation in hand that would limit residences to 3/3 and 2 ounces NO MATTER HOW MANY patients live under the roof.

My thinking was that they ARE going to zone these businesses out of existence ANYWAY...so why give them reason to regulate AT ALL?

Unfortunately, only 1/2 of the story was told locally. If you didn't attend the meetings you didn't see the direction the county has ALREAY DECIDED to take. This vote was just PUBLIC MASTERBATION....a momentary feel-good that made folks THINK they have control, when in fact...I believe strongly that the deal is already sealed.

I give it less than a month before the regs are tossed on the table and the Center owners FINALLY wake up and see that they are not "grandfathered" in and they and are going to have to walk the gauntlet (litigate) for the county to even have ANY hope of remaining in biz.

Wot a mess.....

The 3/3 limit it isn't on the table YET.....but they let the cat out of the bag a few months ago and dropped the pdf. on the County site.....then 1284 passed and they removed it. Fortunately I captured it electronically so I can see if any changes are made if it shows up again. Another thing that is in the verbiage here for the Centers will be a setback from both residences AND hotels and motels. In a resort community...that right there pretty much nixxes any hope of existence....and such verbiage is WELL BEYOND anything you will see down yer way...I'd wager heavily on that.

So time will tell. >>>IF<<< they go with a 3/3 and 2 oz limit...I've already set the funds aside for the attorney.... 'cus that will take away either my right or my wife's right to grow our own medicine. Such a limit is certainly unconstitutional and something that NEEDS to be challenged.

As I said VERY early-on in the RMH thread....

"Call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye...."

wot a mess...
