I’ve always used flourescents for seedlings too but picked up a super-cheap, Black Friday deal for a 2k led. Playing with distance and the dimmer on a couple now before i go full hog. Same germ method, straight into soil.

I find germinating the seeds straight in the soil the best method. Also always soak em the night before planting. Works for vegetables so why wouldn’t it work for weed!
Was wondering about trying an LED light as well. Hope it works well for you!
Okay so 19 days in since putting the seeds into soil!
Things are looking okay so far, weed plants are doing well. Had one point where they got too much wind and the growth started to become curly. Repositioning the fan for less movement helped a lot. Everything is green and has not been fed once yet. I am going to feed them for the first time when I transplant them into bigger pots next week. They will go from the solo cups to 1 gallon fabric pots.
Also started many different types of vegetables; tomatoes, peppers, and onions so far.
Check out the setup in the one photo! Simple but it gets the job done for starting indoors!
It’s now been a month since planting the seeds! They are looking spectacular so far. They struggled a little bit when they were a little root bound in the solo cups but they’ve rebounded nicely since transplanting them into bigger pots. Upper leaves are super green and looking nice. I’ll probably top them during their next watering!
It’s actually a little bit of a struggle growing so many different strains, because they all react differently or need nutrients at different times. But for now I’m happy with how they’re looking.
the girls are looking wonderful! Very healthy now! They have been transplanted into 1 gallon fabric pots and have been loving their new home. I’ve topped most of them now but still waiting on some to grow a bit taller before topping them.
This year I’m trying to top them higher than I’m used to. I always grow outdoors and have noticed that when they’re in the ground the main branches are always so close to the dirt. One plant had a couple branches rot off last year. So as I said, this year I’m topping higher than normal for me!
Looking good over there MF. I need some inexpensive lighting to get 15 seedlings happy. I'm starting to lean towards LED to replace my aging flouros. Yours look great so far.
Thanks homie! Hope to keep up with this thread this year. Work life has me with not enough time to be too active on the forums much, so as long as I can keep this thread updated I’ll be happy.

Thank you thank you! I have always used flouros as they’ve always been easy to replace if a bulb goes out. I’m so indifferent on the choice of flouro or LED though as I’m only vegging my girls for a couple months then they go outside.
I’ve also been using them to start my tomatoes, beans, peppers, onions, etc etc.
I’m sure I’ll post lots of all of these!
