I wanted to start a thread on general knowledge of growing mushrooms.
I have a basic knowledge of the process............somewhat.
I have attempted my first PF jar process and failed miserably.
I shall start again and post as I go.
Any Farmers with knowledge of this hobby please post here!
Thanks

I started my journey by building a clean environment.
Started my PF jars and used this book as a learning guide. But the book is 1/2 assed and screwed up my first try.
The way the book showed it done caused me to inject the content of the syringe into dry vermiculite. I’m going to start over again. Hopefully this time I’ll get it rite.

brilliant glovebox.. ive been told to empty syringe contents into four sides of the jars, after they are cooled down to tempm silicone makes a nice seal around the noc, medi tape allows the co2 out .. looks like youve got BRF?

Hi diesel, brf is brown rice & flower mix

i believe the tinfoil should be removed at this stage, its only to protect water from coming in from the PC, it may be inhibiting gas exchange!
If you remove the tinfoil, what would the top of the lid look like? just an open hole to the dry vermic layer?

If that is a tyvek layers taped over the lid but under the tinfoil, you shall only need the tyvek layer

Yes, open hole with dry very. The tape is for pressure cooking tape and it’s on top of the tin foil. I used it in a cross cross pattern to make 4 injection ports and then taped over the top of the holes.
