If you guys think I should switch pumps I will ha
huh?I'm actually looking to decrease my yield.
huh?
I wouldn't say that makes me a sheep because I'm trying to figure out more about my air situation. And like current culture recomends more air=less nutes, so that's part of figuring out the ideal nutrient profile...
Please fill me in on your nutrient profile. Ppm's and what nutes you use. I'm looking to switch nutes on one system as a test to see if I can do better. Also how tall are most of your plants at max? Using regarding 1000w or de?
With the 2 pumps in each uc 4xl (4, 8 gallon sites, 30 gal system)
I'm running 76 lpm(38lpmx2) for 30 gallons of water. I am going to change it soon but I don't have any aeration going to the 13 gallon topoff tanks. As suggested I'm going to add a small pump just to keep things moving in those.
I also just have each pump going to 2 buckets, so there are no air stones in the epicenter... I figure the return pump water aerates/agitates the epicenter enough...?
So what are your thoughts, is that the right amount of air, not enough, too much? Should I be running even lower ppm's on the super aerated feed chat that cultured solutions recomends? I typically get up around 750 ppm at peak (500 scale), but am not seeing the size I want out of the buds.
Cultured solutions considers supercharged 1.5lpm per gallon... at that rate it's only recommended to run 45 lpm to a 30 gallon system, when my pumps are rated at 76 per 30 gallons. And on the supercharged chart they top out ppm at 350 ppm max in peak flowing! So by that I'd be over double the recommended ppm with my pumps while also aerating the systems more than 45lpm...
Im lit and rambling but trying to make sense of this. Uc 4xl ships with 40 lpm air pump but manufacture specs say I'm running 76 lpm (38x2)
Should I cut one out?
I should just buy the pump they use, rub it on one system and see if I notice a difference, duh ha
AgreedThe more air the better! An extra stone will help but won't actually get more air, just more possibly smaller bubbles. Smaller bubbles aerate the water better. From what I've been told. I just use a a aquarium pump rated for 30 gallon tank, with 3 airstones. I'm only running one bucket right now till my two clones are ready.
Damn, it's going to pain me to do this but I'm going to start the next new run on the supercharged chart, see how the results go.
I know what ya mean but u can always add a lil if the plants need it. Way easier than fixing too much nutes
It's just hard as a long time soil grower to use such low ppm. I'm finally adjusted to their recommendations and now cutting those numbers in half will make me feel like I'm starving them... but that's one of the many reasons I love hydro, they will quickly tell you what they want if they aren't getting it
